PAYRANGE: 12.50 - 14.00/hour Up to 20 hours per week

DEPARTMENT: Hope Network off-campus work study & Internship site

LOCATION: Hope Network, Grand Rapids

REPORTS TO: Supervisor at Hope Network

Summary:

Hope Network is seeking an Information technology (IT) intern to ensure the organization's computer systems are functioning and meet the needs of the organization. This is an exciting opportunity for qualified candidates to be an integral part of an established network management team who work together to ensure system security and stability and requirements are met at Hope Network.Managing Windows, Linux, or Mac systemsUpgrading, installing, and configuring application software and computer hardwareTroubleshooting and providing technical support to employeesCreating and managing system permissions and user accountsPerforming regular security tests and security monitoringMaintaining networks and network file systemsQualifications:

Knowledge of operating systemsCompetency in administering Windows and / or Linux operating systemsFamiliarity with hardwareWorking physical devices-such as servers or printersCloud computing skillsFamiliarity with cloud applications like Office365, Google Cloud Platform, and/or AWSKnowledge of networksSet up and maintain Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN), in addition to setting up network security features like firewalls,Communication and interpersonal skillsIn addition to working on a team, sysadmin will be expected to help other employees that don't have the same technical knowledge, through help desk support or other means.

Business Hours: 8am - 5pm, Monday-Friday (flexible)
