Job Description

The Tax Analyst IV is responsible for various aspects of federal, state, and local income and franchise tax compliance and reporting. The position may also need some availability to help in areas of indirect Tax (ex: Sales & Use, Property & Real Estate Taxes, Annual Reports, etc.) when business needs deem necessary.

ResponsibilitiesPreparing information for HarbisonWalker International's federal, state, and local income/franchise tax returns, including completion of apportionment and fixed assets. Assisting in quarterly and annual provisions to include completion of book-tax and federal-state differences. Review federal and state tax returns.When necessary, assist the team with preparing HarbisonWalker International's sales/use, personal property, and real estate tax returns and remitting paymentPreparing annual cash tax forecast and assisting with the preparation of quarterly tax calculations and paymentsPerforming monthly and quarterly review and reconciliation tax-related balance sheet accountsProviding support for federal, state, and international audits, including responses to inquiries and tax noticesProviding support to consultants on various projects (IE: income tax, transfer pricing, etc.)Monitoring and remaining current on changes to federal and state tax law to determine impact on companyRequirements

B.S. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldRequires computer operation skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel expertiseEncouraged, but not required, prior use of Oracle Cloud softwareRequires knowledge of tax compliance and tax research softwareRequires strong strategic thinking and business problem solving skillsRequires strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environmentRequires strong analytical skills and the ability to assemble and quickly analyze dataRequires excellent organization skills with accurate and precise attention to detailRequires self-motivation with the ability to adapt quicklyWork Experience

The Tax Analyst IV requires two (2) years of general accounting/finance experience and four (4) - eight (8) years of tax experience geared towards Corporate Income Tax. Prior experience in a Manufacturing or Refractories company is a plus, but not required.CPA certification a plusMS in Taxation (MST) or MBA a plusPhysical and Environmental Requirements
