Growing company in Scottsdale is actively looking for a Tax Manager. In this role you will lead the North American tax function, focusing on metrics and deliverables, and looking for efficiencies and improvements along the way. This position offers a salary range of $100-$125K with a hybrid work schedule. This is a great opportunity for someone that wants to make the leap to an industry role from public accounting.
ResponsibilitiesManage the tax compliance function in the US and Canada, coordinating with third-party vendors to ensure timely, accurate, and complete reporting.Prepare/Review, maintain, and streamline internal tax workpapers to support the compliance process.Prepare/Review, maintain, and streamline tax provision workpapers to support the consolidated financial statements of multiple entity groups.Partner with Legal on a routine basis regarding preparation and review of US Federal and State non-resident withholding on real estate dispositions (i.e., FIRPTA).Research tax and accounting issues to support new products, entity structures, proposed transactions or other items as needed.Respond to US Federal, State and Canadian tax notices to timely resolve.Manage tax audits and respond in a timely manner to information requests from taxing authorities.Coordinate with North American and Asia Operations to assist non-resident clients with US and Canadian tax questions and filing obligations.Provide strategic financial and tax planning advice on new and existing entities within the Company.Demonstrate competent knowledge of US Corporate, US International, US Partnership, Canadian Corporate and Canadian Partnership tax rules and regulations.Serve as the lead on all tax accounts, taking responsibility for planning, execution, and final deliverable product.Demonstrate initiative, vision, resourcefulness, creativity, and independent thinking.Maintain general knowledge of accounting, financial statements, internal controls, and professional standards (GAAP, GAAS, etc.).Background Required:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, taxation, business, or other-related field requiredCPA license preferred.3-5 years of tax experience in a public accounting role.Extensive knowledge of current tax legislation.Ability to work well independently as well as the ability to work well with stakeholders and communicate the benefits of tax initiatives.Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.Solid organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task.Established management skills and ability to juggle multiple entities and demands.Strong research and writing skills.Proven competence with MS Office and tax compliance and research software (Checkpoint).For immediate consideration email your resume to Thyra at thyra@southwestaccountingresources.com
