We have nearly 9,000 employees across 450 locations in the U.S. and Canada, making us North Americas leading supplier of cement, aggregates, ready-mixed concrete, asphalt, and related construction materials.Heidelberg Materials is seeking a qualified Tax Analyst to join our team in Irving, Texas.What youll get to doAssist with the preparation of the consolidated federal income tax return. This includes soliciting information from various parties, preparing supporting workpapers and maintaining the tax compliance software.Assist with the preparation of state income and franchise tax returns, extensions, and estimated payments utilizing tax compliance software. Assist with the preparation of state apportionment workpapers.Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end IAS 12/ASC 740 (Accounting for Income Taxes) financial reporting. This may include any or all of the following: soliciting information from various parties, calculating the appropriate income tax expense and liability amounts, and preparing rate reconciliation calculations.Assist with the preparation of tax reporting packages to be sent to the ultimate parent company of the U.S. group.Maintain general knowledge of current federal and state income tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.Assist with the development and implementation of tax saving strategies at the U.S. federal and state levels.Assist with federal, state and local income and franchise tax audits, appeals and litigation for the U.S. group.Assist with tax due diligence for US acquisitions, dispositions and reorganizations.Support the Canadian Corporate Tax Group.Provide technical assistance and support to field personnel as necessary to help with federal and state franchise and income, sales, use and other types of state and local tax issues.Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Essential Experience and SkillsB.S. / B.A. in AccountingMasters in Taxation desirable but not requiredQualified to sit for the CPA exam preferred or Certified Public AccountantMinimum of two (2) years of work experience in a tax department (public accounting or industry)Strong communication skills both verbal and writtenExcellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to detailsRequires excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Office, SAP experience helpful
