Job Description SummaryAs a Sr Director of a software engineering group, you will apply your knowledge of management, software development methodologies, best practices, and proven processes to lead teams to deliver a quality software product on budget, within planned schedule with superb quality. This role will be responsible for leading the software Engineering teams for iFix and Cimplicity products for Manufacturing Digital. The HMI/SCADA products are one of the key revenue generating products for GE Digitals' Manufacturing business unit. Other than Automation products, this role will also be responsible for some of the ongoing innovations in Manufacturing digital, such as Enterprise data. This role will also have a key responsibility to lead all the site related activities for the team.

Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities

Be responsible for Engineering leadership of HMI/SCADA products (termed as Automation products namely iFix and Cimplicity) for Manufacturing digital.

Build a world class software development team to consistently deliver complex software platforms which are accountable for majority of revenue generation for Manufacturing digital business.

Collaborate closely with horizontal product teams such as Operations Hub, Configuration hub, User Authentication etc. to ensure HMI designer and other applications are well integrated. Design and execute on a well thought out strategy for the global organization growth.

Actively present leadership updates to GE executive sponsors and customers.

Partner with Product Management team to formulate the technical roadmap aligned to product strategy.

Lead some key organization wide global initiatives to bring transformation in the teams.

Work with others to define future technology platforms and architecture for products and services.

Quickly learn, internalize and develop a strong understanding of key priorities and the clients.

Align with stakeholders to ensure that data and process changes required in systems are implemented in accordance with project objectives and timelines.

Provide day to day work direction for team members engaged in projects and delivery.

Facilitate and coach software engineering teams on requirements estimate and work sizing.

Demonstrate mastery of intricacies and interactions within dynamic agile cultures and processes.

Drive a continuous learning culture to help guide continuous improvements.

Provide leadership on Lean/Agile principles and development practices.

Actively pursue new methods and practices to increase productivity.

Utilize project management tools to track progress and recognize key risk areas for specific implementations.

Assist in the resolution of conflicting priorities through the proactive communication of requirements, timelines and stakeholders.

Operate as an engaged leader who serves as a subject matter and technical expert for assigned programs and development initiatives.

Work with system leaders and functional teams to ensure products and services adhere to compliance and controllership standards.

Share technical, procedural, and business knowledge with others.

Leverage your domain expertise; you are expected to further the knowledge and improve productivity of your colleagues with activities such as creating learning content, giving presentations, and fostering a continuous learning culture.

Education Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with a minimum of 10 years of experience.

Demonstrates mastery of the intricacies of interactions and dynamics in Agile teams.

Previous experience in software development in an agile environment and writing code.

Previous experience working in a Java web development environment and/or C++/.Net environments.

Demonstrates advanced understanding of Linux or Unix operating systems.

Demonstrates advanced understanding of software development tools & infrastructure.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity.

Innovates and integrates new processes and/or technology to significantly add value to GE.
