The successful candidate will assist the 36th Electronic Warfare Squadron, 53d Electronic Warfare Group (53 EWG) at Eglin AFB, Florida. The 53 EWG is the technical focal point for all electronic warfare (EW) support of warfighter systems for the Combat Air Forces (CAF).
The mission of the 53 EWG is to develop and test mission data (MD) to defeat enemy radar and infrared guided missile systems, thus enhancing aircrew and aircraft survivability in combat. This mission includes operational EW testing, MD development/validation/verification, force development evaluation execution and facilitating foreign materiel exploitation.
Essential Job Functions:
Seeking qualified Systems Administrators, to support the 53rd Wing Technical Support Services contract, to provide the Air Force support services in the areas of network, security and test & evaluation.
The individual will be working in a fast-paced, highly-technical, and award winning area that requires a strong work ethic with a well-rounded server, networking, information assurance (IA) and client systems background.
The successful candidate will identify, prioritize, and resolve reported customer issues and problems.
On a daily basis the successful candidate will serve as the expert for determining hardware, software and systems specification and execution of the patching, fixing, and making all systems compliant under his/her direct control.
The successful candidate will provide support to users in the areas of account management, enterprise applications, desktop applications, and peripherals.
The successful candidate will serve as an Information Technology (IT) specialist responsible for assistance in the operation and maintenance of the unit's computer networks and to provide technical assistance, training, and support to customers.
Apply computer hardware and software expertise to establish and maintain Government program specific information technology (IT) capability in accordance with Government instructions, policies and procedures.
Act as the first point of contact for resolving or escalating issues relating to hardware, software, network, and other issues of computer end users.
Responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software and will respond to queries, runs diagnostics, isolates problem, and determines and implements solution.
Office setting that includes sedentary physical effort. However, may include lifting of weight up to thirty pounds as necessary.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
An Associate degree with at least 10 years of experience is required.
Active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
The successful applicant will a have experience planning, installing, configuring and troubleshooting Microsoft Hyper V, Server 2008 R2, Server 2012 R2 and client products across multiple networks as well as strong networking background to include addressing and port and protocol knowledge.
May be required to have the proper and current information assurance certification to perform information assurance functions in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program.
Knowledge, skills and attributes associated with this position(s) include:
A valid/current DoD 8570.01-M IAT-11 certification.
Microsoft Server 2012/2012 R2 Experience.
Design, deploy, and maintain Windows 2012/2012R2 systems, AD, DHCP, DNS, NTP, CA, Active Directory, GPO, and other core infrastructure components in an enterprise environment.
Strong knowledge of supporting MS tools (WSUS, SCDPM, SCOM).
Microsoft Server Virtualization.
Experience Deploying and Maintaining Hyper-V servers and guests.
Experience Deploying and Maintaining Microsoft Failover Clustering.
Experience Deploying and using System Center Virtualization Manager to manage multiple Hyper-V host clusters.
Familiarity/proficiency with network principles, concepts, equipment and tools sufficient to assist in planning and maintaining network services; network standards and equipment sufficient to install, configure, and troubleshoot components such as routers, hubs, switches, and servers; information technology hardware and software products, as well as, computer peripherals (e.g. printers, monitors, hard drives, docking stations, scanners, etc.); customer service support skills; customer training to include demonstrations of hardware/software; documentation development; database development, design, implementation, and maintenance; network operations and administration; application development, design and implementation; document scanning and retrieval.
Desired Skills:
TS clearance with DCID 6/4 within the last 5 years and sensitive compartmented information (SCI) eligibility.
Experience with MS SQL.
Experience with System Center Operations Manager.
Good Understanding of basic networking (Routing/Switching/VLANS/Firewalls).
Experience working with third party vendors during development/troubleshooting.
