Job Type Part-timeDescriptionChinese Mutual Aid Association (CMAA) is a fast-paced, community-based, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, dedicated to fostering the integration of the low-income, Pan-Asian immigrant and refugee community into the United States. Established in 1981, CMAA has been a cornerstone of the Uptown community, providing programming for generations of low-income youth, adults, and senior citizens. We offer direct services, including afterschool & youth mentorship programming, job training & placement, elder care services, and social services such as citizenship & housing services.RequirementsPromotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; and supervising assigned team members.Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements.Provide nursing services ( health education, health monitoring, health consultation)Implements and ensures that medication management plans are executed in accordance with the Administrative code.Develop individualized care plan in consultation with the Adult Day Services team Participate in Quality assurance plansPlan and implement the highest quality health servicesEstablishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.Promotes patient's independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patients, friends, and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions.Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; follows nursing division's philosophies and standards of care set by the state board of nursing, State Nurse Practice Act, and other governing agency regulations.Resolves patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.Maintains continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; and evaluating new equipment and techniques.Maintains nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies.Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; and participating in team problem-solving methods.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Provide emergency services during programming QualificationsRN or LPN license required in Illinois Bilingual preferred in Lao or SpanishHave a passion for working with the geriatric population Well-organized and EHR proficient Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Physical DemandsThis is a largely sedentary role, however, some filing is required. This could require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
