Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products. Assists in special Quality related Projects as required.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESGeneral:Performs Final Inspection for Tandem and Timco product.Ensures material meets customer and internal specifications.Generates material certification according to work instructions.Performs visual inspection of orders ready to ship prior to release.Measures and inspects actual physical properties of material (e.g Length, Diameter, angle, weight, roughness, etc.) and ensures paperwork matches actual and meets customer requirement.Supports Spectrometer and Alscan operation and inspections as needed. Must be familiar with both inspections.Supports material Hardness inspection as needed. Must be familiar with inspection.Understand, be familiar and know how to interpret each CQR.Must be familiar with all types of inspection reports related to Tandem or Timco operation.Must be familiar with elements of the periodic table.Must be familiar with basic mathematical operations, such as addition, multiplication, average, multiplication, etc.Must be able to apply conversion of units, such as % to ppm values.Communicates constantly with Scheduler, Production and Shipping departments to organize priorities for inspection of orders.Follows MRB procedure for non-conforming orders or material.Other DutiesWater Analysis: Compiles daily checks of Cooling Tower, Pits and City Water.Maintains and stores chemistry samples and heat sheets in specified container.Performs Hardness Testing Inspections.Performs Calibration Check of Hardness Tester.Performs Calibration Check of Alscan Instruments.Fills out Inspection Records and inputs information in computer.Assists in special Projects as directed by Management.QualificationsQUALIFICATIONSHigh school Diploma. One year certificate from college or technical school preferred.Six to twelve months of Quality or Technical experience.Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is a must (Intermediate Excel and Office)Familiarity with Ultrasonic Testing is a plus.Familiarity with Spectrometer for Chemical analysis is a plus.Familiarity with Heat treatment process and records is a plus.Near Vision: Jaegar (Type 1 or equivalent)Color Vision: Must be able to distinguish and differentiate between colors used during the product acceptance/certification process. SKILLS AND ABILITIESAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to use word processing and spreadsheet software.Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical interference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Wide variety of routine tasks that involve some choice of action within limits.PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job. the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and talk or hear.
