SUMMARY

Manage finance and accounting departments providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all company activities that will assist management, its shareholders and other users in making educated economic decisions about the company's future.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION

Deeply involved with month end close of Business Unit financial. Supports needed information for accurate billing for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements and annual audits and annual budgets.Work with operations and IT to fully integrate operations systems.Support collections department for local customers as needed.Provide variance analysis throughout the month.Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departmentsRespond to Executive Director of Accounting & Finance as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate his or her financial needs.Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports related to the financial success of the organization.Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner.Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.Must have regular and predictable attendanceIdentify areas of need and develop continual process improvement.OTHER SIGNIFICANT JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.Five years of hands-on accounting/financial experience.PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

CPA certificationExperience in the Transportation field highly desired.REQUIRED SKILLS (TECHNICAL, CLERICAL, LANGUAGE, ETC.)

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills requiredMust be detail orientedMust have high level of accuracyMust display ethical conduct and maintain confidentialityPREFERRED SKILLS (TECHNICAL, CLERICAL, LANGUAGE, ETC.)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, etc.)Experience with Great Plains softwareStrong communication skillsWORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.OTHER INFORMATION
