Job Summary:

The Thermo King West Regional Director, Sales and Service leads a high performing team responsible for generating new business and maintaining successful relationships within differing Thermo King platforms primarily through our dealer network. This position will be responsible for hiring, motivating and managing a team of field Sales and Service Managers while enabling them to perform at their highest potential.

Where is the work:

This role has been designated as remote within a geography.

What you will do:

The Regional Director, Sales and Service will have overall regional business responsibility with revenue responsibility of $570M and leadership of over 50 dealer locations.

Build a team environment with strong morale, positive energy, consultative and a goal-oriented culture providing clear expectations, delivering performance feedback and follow up.

Build and grow long-term, trusting relationships with a range of contacts at customers, dealerships including the highest level in each organization within the team’s district.

Maintain executive level relationships with dealer principles and key customers in the market.

Provide development opportunities for top performers to groom them for future growth and promotion while developing bench strength and depth.

Provide coaching and development opportunities for all team members based on annual talent assessments.

Serve as a Change Agent, leading change and acting as a catalyst for continuous improvement as we develop and implement the Sales Excellence initiative for Thermo King.

Ensure the district grows the dealer customer base, meets new business goals, manages strategic accounts, and maintains and preserves dealers.

Demonstrate a high level of attentiveness towards customer and create a culture which encourages high quality service.

Proactively uncover and deliver marketplace feedback as it relates to customer trends, competitive activity, industry issues, and business opportunities.

Partner with Senior Leadership and Human Resources to understand the need to and execute recruitment, quality of hire, the development of employees and the retention of a diverse, quality workforce.

Effectively communicate at all levels within the organization with the ability to influence and persuade effectively.

Display managerial courage in addressing difficult situations, aligning behavior with the organization's position, needs and goals.

Develop trusting relationships and open communication, accepting feedback (up and down).

Provide commercial insight to Product Growth leadership team on product and service requirements and translate customer needs into product line extensions through participation in Trane Technologies’ Product Development Process.

Demonstrate the flexibility necessary to adjust to changing and/or additional duties and responsibilities as the market and company changes.

Provide feedback and specific recommendations to management for how to improve Thermo King various dealer sales and service processes.

Set AOP plans for each district and dealer family within the region. Financial ownership of the region P&L including but not limited to revenue, expenses, commercial policy and selling levels.

Complexity…dealer consolidation, competitive network.

What you will bring:

12+ years progressively responsible Sales and/or Service experience preferably in Transportation Industry.

Significant leadership experience typically demonstrated by 5+ years leading large territories with multiple levels of employees.

Successfully built and led field sales and/or service organizations with dramatic growth across multiple regions.

Experience defining, building, and implementing successful sales and service plans.

Strategic executive who can add value across the organization.

An innate understanding of business processes and how to redesign/re-engineer them to provide competitive advantages for the company, and streamline processes.

Proven track record of consistently exceeding sales and/or other quantitative goals, as well as qualitative goals.

Strong understanding of dealership model, both larger dealer groups and family owned.

Self-directed, rolls up the sleeves and overcomes obstacles.

Driven, articulate, confident and polished leader with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Collaborative attitude and desire to contribute outside primary areas of responsibility.

Ability to travel 50% of the time.

Compensation:

Base Compensation Range is $170,000 to $250,000. Total compensation for this role also will include an incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base salary range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, or geographic location where the work is performed.
