Salary: $150,000 - $180,000
OVERVIEW : As the Director of Payroll at our Nationally Ranked Hospital/Medical Centers, you'll spearhead all aspects of payroll operations and reporting for our 5,000+ employees. This pivotal role demands expertise in payroll systems, tax compliance, and process optimization. You'll collaborate with HR, IT, and external partners to drive continuous improvement in our payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across multiple pay cycles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Leadership: Lead payroll operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant processing for all employees. Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement in payroll systems and processes.
Team Management: Oversee the Payroll Department, fostering a culture of excellence through cross-training, performance management, and ongoing professional development.
Systems Integration: Maintain and enhance payroll systems (Oracle, Kronos, ADP), collaborating with IT, HR, and vendors to optimize interfaces and ensure regulatory compliance.
Process Improvement: Establish annual department goals, track KPIs, and implement best practices for both in-house and outsourced payroll functions.
Financial Reporting: Provide crucial payroll data for monthly financial closings, annual audits, and tax reporting, including Form 990 preparations.
Compliance Assurance: Ensure adherence to IRS regulations, federal and state wage laws, and timely completion of all tax reporting requirements.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Advise on complex payroll matters, maintain procedure manuals, and represent Payroll in new hire orientations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of payroll management experience in a large, multi-state setting (1,000+ employees preferred)
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Master's or Payroll Certification advantageous
Proficiency with ADP Enterprise, Kronos, and MS Office (especially Excel)
Experience with payroll system implementations and Oracle ERP is a plus
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
