The Senior/National Account Director is responsible for assigned National/Regional accounts and ensuring access and coverage of United Therapeutics current and future products. This role is also responsible for establishing and maintaining UT's relationship with assigned Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), GPOs, and Governmental Payers – and successfully implementing the Payer business opportunity. Additionally, the role is accountable for partnership, communication and directing effective and compliant Payor coverage opportunities across assigned US region. This role will act as a mentor, partner and resource to field sales on all managed care initiatives.Relationship Management: Establish and maintain UT’s relationship with assigned National Accounts and relevant KOL Payer stakeholders. Identify and develop business relationships with Pharmacy Benefit and Medical Benefit stakeholders within assigned MCOs. Cultivate payer business opportunities and successfully implement action plans that align with brand strategy and payer objectives.Business Development: Identify, develop, and implement payer business opportunities. Optimize managed care coverage opportunities with a focus on ROI and market competitiveness. Drive new product payer uptake, formulary access, and coverage.Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and execute MCO business plans to achieve Managed Markets goals and objectives. Prepare and present formal business and product presentations to payers. Enhance current product access and coverage.Collaboration and Communication: Partner with field sales as the primary resource for managed markets opportunities/issues. Educate field sales on key managed care concepts relevant to daily operations. Communicate payer perspectives to the Market Access Senior Management.Cross-Functional Coordination: Work cross-functionally with Market Access, Trade, Marketing, Legal, Compliance, and Field Sales to implement aligned payer initiatives. Maintain positive working relationships with sales, training, and marketing teams.Compliance and Contract Management: Negotiate and implement contracts within the guidance of UT Market Access leadership and within Finance and Legal parameters. Provide guidance and leadership on Pharma compliance requirements to internal colleagues.Reporting and Analysis: Maintain and report timely on important developments and trends relevant to assigned accounts and related field sales geographies. Translate payer opportunities into increased revenues.Support for UT’s Subsidiary, Lung Bio Engineering (LBE): Provide support to Lung Bio Engineering (LBE) by negotiating commercial contracts with Transplant Centers. Provide reimbursement/coverage expertise and educate payers about LBE’s commercial services for Transplant Centers.Territory to include the central third of the United States.For this role you will need:

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with 10+ years of related industry experience including Managed Care, Sales Leadership, Sales, Marketing and successful business case development in the pharma/biotech industry orMaster's Degree with 8+ years of related industry experience including Managed Care, Sales Leadership, Sales, Marketing and successful business case development in the pharma/biotech industry.Current relationships with relevant MCOs.Executive level business presentation experience.Demonstrated ability to cultivate strong business relationships and skilled in communicating clinical/technical information.Demonstrated success with new product launches in the MCO environment with successful pull-through implementation.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word).Ability to interact with other departments and prioritize tasks.Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with payer stakeholders to ensure product access and reimbursement for current and future UT products.Ability to travel up to 70%.Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in a related field.4+ years current relationship and knowledge of national payer landscape.3+ years experience in rare disease sales management.2+ years current experience in Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension.Senior National Account Director

Bachelor’s Degree in life sciences or a related field.12+ years of related industry experience including Managed Care, Sales Leadership, Sales, Marketing, and successful business case development in the pharma/biotech industry with a Bachelor's Degree.10+ years of related industry experience including Managed Care, Sales Leadership, Sales, Marketing, and successful business case development in the pharma/biotech industry with a Master's Degree.Proven national payer contract development, negotiation, and implementation.Current relationships with relevant MCOs.Executive level business presentation experience.Demonstrated ability to cultivate strong MCO business relationships and skilled in communicating clinical/technical information.Demonstrated success with new product launches in the MCO environment with successful pull-through implementation.Strong organizational skills and willingness to go the extra mile to make the team and organization stronger.Ability to act as a team player and support colleagues with a results-driven attitude.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word).Proven leadership and results managing the largest, most complex national accounts.Ability to travel up to 70%.Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in life sciences or a related field.6+ years of current relationship and knowledge of national payer landscape.5+ years of experience in rare disease sales management.2+ years of current experience in pulmonary arterial hypertension.Experience with market access/managed care marketing or relevant brand management.The salary for the National Account Director position ranges from $190,000 to $250,000 per year.The salary for the Senior National Account Director position ranges from $230,000 to $260,000 per year.In addition, this role is eligible for the Company’s short-term and long-term incentive programs.
