Director, Corporate and Digital Events

As part of the RingCentral Global Events team, this position is an integral part of the Global Events Program and will be responsible for supporting the success of RingCentral’s Corporate and Digital Events. As the Director, Corporate & Digital Events, you will own a portfolio of first-party events such as our annual user conference, city tours, digital product launches, and webinars, plus other key corporate internal/external programs. In this role, you’ll partner directly with our executive leadership team, sales, and other key internal stakeholders to facilitate in-person and digital engagements with executives and decision-makers at top accounts to help pipeline generation and acceleration. This role is ideal for someone who loves working cross-functionally to combine a detail-oriented event planning approach with an understanding of sales needs into a cohesive Event plan. This role is evenly split between managing corporate events and digital events. Digital events are inclusive of our marketing webinars and virtual events leveraging our own RingCentral Events platform. Corporate events are inclusive of sales kick-offs, customer advisory board events, analyst events, and corporate-level customer engagement events. This person will need to work effectively within a small team and be a strategic problem solver as well as a strong execution player with strong written and polished verbal communication skills. They’ll obsess over details, display poise and sophistication in fast-moving situations, embrace ambiguity, and deliver results. This is a hybrid role based in Bay Area, California. You will be required to be in our Belmont HQ 4 days a week when not traveling onsite for an event. Key Responsibilities: Driving the success of our 1st party events that educate current and prospective customers and partners and deliver amazing experiences around our wide set of products and solutions to capture interest and consideration for adoption of RingCentral’s technologies. Experience managing digital, hybrid, and in-person events and webinars from start to completion. Partnering with Marketing, Partner, and Sales teams, to plan a 12-month rolling calendar of events that support the growth of our engagement with current customers. Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are met. Facilitate pre-event planning and prep meetings with various stakeholders from marketing, sales, and product. Coordinate with leadership to complete comprehensive event plans and project deliverables; a clear understanding and articulation of each event, its unique market position, and target audiences is key. Coordinate event logistics and onsite event support; where necessary, provide virtual event support for onsite team/staff. Collaborate with the brand design team to create best-in-class event booth designs that draw crowds and align with the company’s brand strategy. Collaborate closely with the regional marketing teams to support strategic partner and industry-specific events including ancillary events, executive meetings, onsite execution, and sales enablement. Identify and coordinate with potential speakers (e.g., internal, customers, thought leaders) for event panel and speaking session opportunities; the ability to storytell and assist with content creation is a must. Facilitate gathering feedback from cross-functional partners and evaluate all event outcomes to provide post-event ROI analysis. For RingCentral-owned events, research and secure venues, negotiate contracts, and compare costs to make quick yet calculated decisions. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of events. Work with marketing operations to create and regularly review reports and have a deep understanding of marketing funnel success metrics (e.g., MQLs, SQLs, SALs, pipeline, closed revenue) for all events; you will have plenty of support for reporting, but a high level of fluency with numbers and reporting is critical to success. Attributes/Requirements: Minimum 10 years experience planning, executing, and measuring events and marketing campaigns of various sizes and scope, specifically in high-tech products/services. Experience hosting in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, preferably on the RingCentral Events platform (formerly Hopin). Bonus: proficient in managing roadshow-style customer conferences. Analytical skills and ability to draw most relevant insights that accurately describe performance and impact metrics, and take action. Experience with event platforms (RingCentral Events (formerly Hopin), Chili Piper, etc.) and mobile apps preferred. Deeply collaborative; you excel in fast-paced, ambiguous environments. Strong communicator with a proven ability to think strategically, but stay on top of tactical execution with a robust attention to detail. Ability to navigate a global company and take initiatives to find creative solutions. Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and time management skills with the ability to effectively execute independently toward multiple, high-priority projects in a timely fashion. If you are hired in Colorado, California, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Maryland, Washington, Connecticut, Rhode Island, the compensation range for this position is between $126,000 - $234,000 for full-time employees, in addition to eligibility for variable pay, equity, and benefits.
