*Medical Assistant (MA) – Pediatric Neurology MaineHealth ScarboroughFull Time**Hours are Monday-Friday, with option to work 4 ten-hour shifts after orientation.**For a limited time MaineHealth is offering sign on bonuses for Medical Assistants and Clinical Team Assistants:** *0-1 years of experience - $4,000 (Full Time)** *1+ years of experience - $5,000 (Full Time)** Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.MaineHealth, Neurology is home to 26 Physicians, 9 Resident Physicians and 9 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), with a total of nearly 65 staff serving both Adult and Pediatric Neurology patients at its brand new state-of-the-art facility in Scarborough, ME at 92 Campus Drive. Adult Neurology features multiple sub-specialties which include: Epilepsy, Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Movement Disorders, Memory, and Pediatric Neurology.In addition to offering advancement opportunities through their MA Clinical Ladder, MMP Neurology encourages staff development. Employees can participate in educational opportunities and conferences, and are supported in obtaining credentialing and specialty certifications. For those who want to gain leadership experience, MMP Neurology provides its employees the ability to join department and organization committees.*Position Summary:*The Medical Assistant (MA) is assigned duties and responsibilities related to patient care in a team-based ambulatory practice environment. The MA functions under the license of the provider when performing clinical and other patient care tasks. The MA must demonstrate competency in all skills related to the performance of patient care within their scope of practice and according to organizational policies, accrediting and licensing bodies.*Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)** *Education: *Applicants must have graduated with an Associates Degree in Medical Assisting from an accredited college or a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program, and completed 160 hours clinical experience acquired through an externship or working as a medical assistant, or: Be credentialed and have a minimum of 1 year's clinical Medical Assisting experience in a multi-physician medical practice preferred. Other relevant clinical experience will be evaluated on a case by case basis.* *License/Certifications: *Current BLS required. Approved Medical Assistant credentials are: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the AAMA, Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through the AMT, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the NHA, National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) through the NCCT.* *Experience: *At least 2 year’s clinical Medical Assisting experience in a multi-physician medical practice.* Ability to excel in a team-based care environment.* Maintain personal and professional records that include evaluation and validation of clinical competence/proficiency, continuing education, and any certification or verification of special skill sets.* Skill in time management, problem solving, multitasking, prioritizing and medical care coordination.* Ability to maintain a professional manner.* Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.* Proficient computer skills and knowledge of the electronic medical record.* Knowledge of medical terminology and medical office procedures.*For more information and to apply, please visit: **About MaineHealth:*MaineHealth is a not-for-profit integrated health system whose vision is, “Working together so our communities are the healthiest in America.” MaineHealth consists of nine local health systems, a comprehensive behavioral health care network, diagnostic services, home health agencies, and 1,700 employed clinicians working together through the MaineHealth Medical Group.
