**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)**Job Specialty:** Progressive Care Unit (PCU)**Job Duration:** 13 weeks**Shift:** Night, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week**Experience:** Previous travel experience preferred**License:** Registered Nurse License**Certifications:** BLS, ACLS, NIHSS**Must-Have:** Cerner experience, ability to work every other weekend, and float as needed within skill set
**Job Description:**
- Provide nursing care to patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, stroke, heart failure, pneumonia, respiratory failure, substance withdrawal, epilepsy, trauma, postoperative conditions, myocardial infarction (MI), coronary artery disease (CAD), and administration of non-titratable cardiac drips and IV medications.- Perform vital signs monitoring and nursing interventions routinely every four hours, with increased frequency as the patient's condition dictates.- Assist with or perform special procedures such as chest tube insertion, peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) lines, central line insertion at bedside, and monitor dialysis patients and those in epilepsy monitoring units (EMU).- Manage patient care for a 51-bed unit, maintaining a nurse-to-patient ratio of 4-5:1.- Record patient information and manage care processes using Cerner electronic health record systems.- Float to intermediate and medical/surgical areas as required to support units in alignment with skills.- Adhere to unit protocols and professional nursing standards while wearing designated navy blue scrubs.
