Business Analyst

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Business Analyst is expected to provide effective and accurate analysis of freight costs, expenditures, freight billing, and on-time delivery performance in the shipping function of the organization. The Freight Analyst manages the invoice to pay process and is responsible to identify, manage and solve complex billing issues and provide managed logistics solutions that are cost effective and in line with industry standards. The Freight Analyst is expected to stay current with industry and sector practices and drive best practice standards and continuous improvement in both cost and delivery performance internally.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Audit all international and domestic invoices and approve freight payments.Analyze data collected from external and internal sources and prepare monthly ad hoc reports.Analyze freight processes and recommend improvements to all transportation and warehouse operations.Analyze the contracted logistics suppliers' performance against established Key Performance Indicators including periodic, pre-established reviews, and audits of service providers for service compliance.Conduct cross freight forwarder rate comparisons and external market research to benchmark freight costs vs. industry standards.Maintain contract rate records, keeping them up to date in line with pre-determined schedules, and monitor billing queries, proactively resolving issues both for prices we pay and we are charging to customers.Maintain pricing trend records for carriers and the wider industry, noting key developments.Monitor tracking system, identify system errors, and recommend appropriate enhancements.Monitor payments to providers, coordinating with internal teams and providing optimal support across departments to resolve all freight-related payment issues, while ensuring compliance to organizational requirements.Investigate and resolve claim issues for inbound and outbound international and domestic freight shipment processes.Create KPI reports and track overall expenditure of the organization for freight movements, working with the Performance Management and Finance Units.QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree, preferably in supply chain operations, freight forwarding and transportation, project management, or a related field.Fully bilingual in English and SpanishExperience in a commercial organization at a national and or international level preferably in supply chain, freight forwarding and transportation, or project management would be great.Advanced ability to work with Microsoft Excel and data mining.Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills with strong sense of customer service.Strong organizational skills and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities, and work in a team with diverse cultural backgrounds.Demonstrated analytical skills; solution oriented with a high sense of quality, attention to detail, accuracy, efficiency, and meeting tight deadlines.Team player who is also able to work independently and handle conflicting priorities while maintaining consistent, quality performance standards.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Sitting for long periods. Dexterity and coordination to handle files and single pieces of paper; occasional lifting of items weighing up to (25) twenty-five pounds such as files, stacks of paper, reference and other materials. Moving from place to place within the office; minimum reaching for items above and below desk level. Strength, dexterity, coordination and vision to use keyboard and video display terminal for prolonged periods.
