Position Overview:

We're hiring for a Help Desk Specialist Level II to work at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Artesia, NM. In this position you'll become part of a technically diverse team to include but not limited to other Help Desk Specialists, Network Engineers, System Administrators, and Database Professionals. Together this team provides IT Operations and Support to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Agency which is responsible for training Law Enforcement Professionals from over 90 different agencies.

Position Responsibilities:

Set up or repair computer equipment and related devicesMaintain system capabilities by testing existing equipment and programsTry out new systems and softwareDocument changes, revisions and problemsTrain users on proper use of hardware and softwareClearly communicate the understanding of the proper use of technology to teamManage and train beginner specialistsTier I Technician ResponsibilitiesRequirements

1-year of experience troubleshooting software and hardware in a customer service roleExcellent problem-solving skills and analytical abilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skills using the English languageHigh school diploma or the equivalentPrefer candidates with an associate degree with an emphasis on Information Technology such as Network Administration; High School Diploma or equivalent is requiredPrefer candidates with certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+Security Qualifications:

No security clearance required; Secret Clearance PreferredMust be a US CitizenMust pass a Federal Law Enforcement Background Investigation
