Summary:

Under direct supervision, responsible for utilizing middleware/integration technology to meet the organizations requirements. Provides technical assistance in all phases of integration (interfaces, device integration, data exchange between disparate systems) from design thru implementation, to support and maintenance.Works with project teams to define integration scope and objectives. Provides a basic understanding of business systems and industry requirements, and advises management and users on data mapping concepts and functional capabilities. Has a basic knowledge of the impacts of mapping and transforming data on systems, and experience utilizing HL7, XML, Web Services, SQL, and service-oriented architecture.Works closely with system administrators, and travels onsite as needed to perform device integration related needs (including device hardware installs, configuration, and maintenance) Analyst will meet with and coordinate with clinical and business end users, and other IT application team members to understand, support, and enhance existing processes involving data integration.Responsibilities:(30%)* Interface Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and ModificationBasic knowledge of the interface development lifecycle. Basic understanding of integration architecture. Understands and communicates the impacts of mapping and transforming data on systems, utilizing HL7, XML, and Web service standards, as well as custom fixed and delimited data formats. Actively participates and facilitates code review sessions of interfaces.(30%)* Device Integration Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and ModificationMonitors the device integration middleware for the normal operation of Device specific interfaces and the connectivity to the interface engine. Identifies and troubleshoots problems with device integration, including occasional onsite support, device communication and operation, and data integrity issues between systems. Maintains device and device middleware specific alerts and notifications to Integration Services staff, system administrators, and/or other end users.(20%)* Project / Request Coordination, Implementation and ManagementParticipates on large and small projects (include software updates/change) and application teams. Analyzes business and user needs, documents requirements, and designs and maintains key system controls (i.e., reusable components, methodology standards). Enacts and ensures change control procedures are followed.(10%)* Collaboration with departments and IT partnersDevelops and maintains a working relationship with users and is a liaison for integration requests. Works closely with other Integration Analysts and Business / Application Analysts. Actively participates in internal training for staff(10%)* Subject Matter ExpertiseEstablishes and maintains subject matter expertise on one or more components of the integration architecture technology.OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide excellent customer service to all customers while performing duties.Provide strong analytical, technical, and troubleshooting skills.Analyze data, problem-solve, and clearly communicate solutions.Interpret and understand customer requirements, and their impact on the technical aspects of a solution.Work in a complex multi-communication-channel environment.Track tasks, define next steps, identify owners, be accountable and hold people accountable.Coordinate activities involving multiple players, including vendors, subject matter experts, interface engine developers, and end users, to design, configure, and test interfaces.Certifications and Licensures:N/ARequired Education:Associate's degree is required

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field or a minimum of an Associate's degree with 3 or more years of work related experience required.Other Information:EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & SKILLSOne (1) or more active Epic Certification(s)/Accreditation(s) or other relevant healthcare Certifications, demonstrating expertise in specific applications. (Completing Epic Bridges Certification is required within 90 days of hire for this position).Two to four years computer related experience which includes 2 years of interface engine, application interface, device integration, database and/or software development life cycle experience.Knowledge of HL7, XML, Java and/or JavaScript, Unix and/or Linux, and SQL.Demonstrated ability to be self-directed with excellent organizational, analytical, writing, interpersonal and project related skills.Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate at multiple organizational levels across the health system.Two to four years computer related experience with 2 years of interface engine, application interface, or device integration experience.Two to four years of experience with Orion Rhapsody or other interface engine technology, Epic Bridges, or device integration.Two years or more of progressive experience in IT in a complex healthcare environment.Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.Experience working with vendors and external consultants/contractors.Ability to learn work process reengineering methodologies and tools to reengineer clinical workflows with software solutions.PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief and death.Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position.Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s).Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching.Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow MyMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required.Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake.Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.Physical Demand Level:
