Job SummaryAlaska OverviewConocoPhillips Alaska, Inc. is Alaska's largest crude oil producer and largest owner of exploration leases, with approximately 1 million net undeveloped acres at year-end 2023. The company produced an average of 195 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day (MBOED) in 2023. ConocoPhillips Alaska holds major ownership interests in two of North America's largest legacy equivalent per day conventional oil fields, both located on Alaska's North Slope: Kuparuk, which the company operates, and Prudhoe Bay. Additionally, ConocoPhillips Alaska owns and operates several fields on the Western North Slope. The company also has an ownership interest in the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System and owns and operates the Polar Tankers fleet.

Job Description

This position reports to the IT Supervisor for Support Services in Anchorage, Alaska.

IT Solutions Analyst (Business Analyst) for Support Services and Aviation provides support and contributes to the success of the organization by translating business strategies into IT requirements and driving the requirements to business solutions. This role is part of the IT Support services and aviation team in the Alaska Digital Technology organization.

Seeking a motivated, ambitious individual who enjoys working directly with clients and/or management to identify business requirements, provide solution alternatives and utilize their technical knowledge to design, build and deliver solutions. This role includes hands-on technical application support and troubleshooting. Some budgetary work for visibility to short-term and long-term forecasting of license and software renewals. The ideal individual should have an extensive background in application lifecycle management, business requirements gathering, solution design and architecture, hands-on technical capability, and the ability to clearly articulate and communicate solution benefits and risks.

Collaborate closely with business customers/subject matter experts, local and corporate IT, and development resources to design, develop and support applicationsServe as a business analyst through gathering, documenting, and understanding business requirements and translation of those requirements to technical specificationsProvide timely estimates of the effort required to complete tasks/projects, coordinate and lead plans and resourcesIdentify, recommend, and implement IT solutions to meet business requirements, improve business process performance, lower total cost of ownership with consideration of Global IT technology strategy and standardsCoordinate with other IT organizations to deliver innovative solutions to the businessProvide technical consulting and guidance to development teams for design and developmentDesign, develop and support complex and quality custom applications, scripts or interfaces using technologies such as .NET, Python, Mendix, UiPath RPA, Power BIProduce code, scripts, and configurations necessary to fulfill the design requirementsProvide technical support and diagnosis of application, server, database, and cloud/web servicesTroubleshoot, debug, and resolve client reported issues including identifying defect root causesAdhere to all company established programming, documentation, change management, project procedures and all corporate policiesUtilize knowledge of business and technical dependencies to ensure application maintenance and support follows established IT policies and proceduresPrepare and maintain documents, flow charts and diagrams as needed to describe the program's intended functionality, data flow, logic used, and any significant considerations madeCreate and update documentation for ongoing support of vended and developed applicationsUse prototyping and demonstrations throughout the development cycle to ensure that functional requirements and usability factors are being satisfiedGenerate and document use/test cases that verify that all requirements have been fulfilledWork with developers to design, develop and test code and applicationsOversee the support and maintenance of assigned applications to ensure a high-level of quality, efficiency, and sustainabilityProvide day-to-day application support for incidents; prioritize incidents; participate on a support rotation providing support for critical production issuesPartner with Server, Cloud, Production Control, Database, Web Services, Packaging, Storage, Disaster Recovery, ServiceDesk, Mobility, GIPA, and other IT teams as part of ongoing operationsProvide timely two-way communication between the customer, team, and others both inside and outside the companyResearch and implement tools and processes that improve and streamline software development and application supportResearch, learn and recommend new technologies as they become available such as AI, ML, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), PaaS Cloud application development, etc.Be familiar with and follow SaFE methodology and Kanban boards for work execution and PI (Program Increment) planningBasic/Required:

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employerBachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or related field or foreign equivalent3 or more years experience in business analysis converting technical requirements into actionable technical solutions3 or more years experience in an application support or application development roleIntermediate knowledge with SQL query writing and scriptingIntermediate knowledge relational database (Oracle, SQL Server, or Teradata)Preferred:

5 or more years experience in the Oil & Gas Industry, preferably supporting Operations and Engineering applications including Corrosion and Asset and Operational Integrity3 or more years hands-on application development and scripting experience (Java, Python, VB .NET, PL/SQL, Perl, C#, etc.)3 or more years experience in a Business Analyst role (business requirements gathering & translation)1 or more years experience implementing and integrating IoT devices, remote sensors, predictive or machine learning applications1 or more years experience with application development in low-code software platforms such as Mendix Experience with Agile/SAFe/SCRUM Principles1 or more years experience with Microsoft ADO, UNIX, LINUX, and Windows based systems, Informatica and ServiceNow1 or more years experience with applications such as: WellView, Actenum DSO, PS PPM (Process safety software), PCMS (Mechanical Integrity Data management software), AssetWorks, SkillsNow, Meridium1 or more years experience applying petroleum engineering principles and practices to solution designIntermediate knowledge of IT and information systems implementation concepts, with an awareness of the full application management lifecycleAnalytical and problem-solving skills - capable of researching unstructured business problems, identifying key people, defining critical business requirements and needs, defining solutions reflecting both information systems and human factor requirementsExcellent mathematical formulation and analytical skills: process mapping, complex problem solving, ability to evaluate and decipher complex requirements and formulasHighly organized with the ability to multi-task and lead contending prioritiesStrong written and verbal communication skills including documentationSees the "big picture" and actively look for innovative opportunities within IT and the businessTakes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what's rightBuilds effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethicalDelivers results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
