Responsibilities:
PeopleTec is currently seeking a
Senior Linux System Administrator
to support our
Huntsville, Alabama
location. As a System Administrator, you will provide expertise in Computer System Administration. You will maintain, configure, and manage operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization. You will install and upgrade computer components and software, as well as troubleshoot hardware and software issues. You will perform regular backup operations and documents processes for data protection and failover. Qualifications: Required Skills/Experience: Advanced or expert level Linux system administrator (7-10 years) with expertise using the command line. Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) version 8. Experience with Bash shell scripting. 2-3 years of experience using Ansible with the ability to develop and maintain playbooks to automate tasks and create consistent configurations across machines. Knowledge of Linux logical volume management (LVM). Excellent knowledge of ZFS filesystem, snapshots, data replication (we use this extensively for data storage, backups, recovery and Continuity of Operations (COOP)). Knowledge of Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG) for RHEL. Red Hat Kickstart for automated operating system installations. Network File System (NFS). Basic knowledge of SElinux. Security+ Certification. CompTIA Linux+ Certification. Strong oral and written communication skills. Some travel may be required. Must be a U.S. Citizen An active DoD
Secret
clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active
Secret
clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment. Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or adjacent field or equivalent experience. Desired Skills
: Experience deploying and maintaining web applications in a containerized environment. Knowledge of Zabbix for real-time asset monitoring. Experience installing and maintaining GitLab instances. Integration with Active Directory using Centrify.
