SUMMARY:
The Midstream Commercial Advisor supports all midstream operations and commercial functions and supports the asset managers to extract the most value from both upstream and midstream assets, as well as carry out the role in alignment with the MEPUSA mission statement, vision, and core values. This entails proactively managing capital and opex budgets, understanding midstream and other related downstream contracts, contract negotiations, effectively communicating critical issues, influencing partners to positively affect their decisions, train less experienced professionals, participate on teams targeting asset acquisitions, expanding partner and 3rd partner relations and effectively manage the midstream function in accordance with the various agreements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Originate, evaluate, negotiate and recommend midstream commercial transactions that serve to maximize value for MEPUSA's upstream investments.Manage and monitor midstream operations for both MEPUSA owned midstream assets and assets/systems providing services to MEPUSA's upstream entityPresent midstream operator proposals and attain required MEPUSA decisions within contractual deadlines. Provide research and analysis to support recommendations.Develop and maintain relationships with partners and operators to support commercial and operating enhancements. Promote HSE excellence in areas of influence.Analyze complex midstream deal structures and recommend preferred positionsDiscern data inaccuracies through technical experience and knowledgeUtilize strong influencing and negotiation skills to positively impact the companyPrepare midstream operational budgets and forecasts for pertinent approvalsReview and check AFEs and prepare recommendations to the companyDemonstrate ability to identify, quantify, deliver and capture value in midstream transactionsCommunicate with strong oral and written skills and demonstrate the ability to communicate at all levels of the company.Provide analysis of midstream and marketing assets associated with prospective acquisitionsImprove knowledge base by attending relevant conferences and seminarsTrain and mentor less experienced professionals regarding the midstream functionREQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Demonstrated ability to discern contract language, negotiate contracts and the innate ability to cope with the various nuances faced when dealing with multiple partiesDemonstrated ability to exemplify strong presentation skills and interpersonal skills with partners, senior management and colleaguesAbility to work through complexity and in a large global business environmentMust be able to handle confidential information with a high degree of responsibilityPossess refined interpersonal verbal and written communication skills, including writing and telephone communication skillsOperates with integrity, teamwork, open communication and a strong sense of ownership/accountabilityProficiency in Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPointAbility to work independently and cross-functionally with little to no supervision.EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE:
Engineering degree or equivalent related work experience required. Engineering degree or MBA preferred.Minimum 15-20 years of midstream experience requiredMidstream leadership experience preferredUnderstanding of both operations and commercial aspects of midstream contracts and a firm understanding of upstream operations and how it fits into the midstream businessLANGUAGE SKILLS:
Fluent verbal and written English skills.WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
