Job DescriptionAs a Customer Applications or Machine Integration Engineer you will: Develop technical specifications and implement new design configurations. Deliver high performance, low-cost equipment and system solutions integrated with the customer's product in a variety of applications. Interact with sales and marketing teams to provide a fully integrated customer experience. Investigate machine and vehicle integration issues to ensure robust installation. Learn how our products are used and identify how we can add value to each downstream customer in the value chain (OEM, Fleet, End-User). Own independent problem resolution for moderately complex product integration issues. For the machine integration engineer, your role will work across customers and markets gaining valuable use-case experience for a product type. For the customer applications engineer, your role will work directly with specific customers to gain more insight into their needs, where you will build your customer relationship management skills. You will make an impact by: Applying existing customer and machine integration tools to enable robust installation quality. Being involved in the decision-making process of product selection, design, and integration activities. Developing working relationships with customer technical counterparts to serve as their primary liaison Applying your product, application, and market knowledge to support product selection and equipment design Understanding how to and translating customer needs into functional product requirements Learning how to ensure products are applied and installed correctly to meet customer system requirements and environments. Working with product development teams to ensure installation quality to validate machine performance and installations that meet Cummins specifications. Documenting and presenting your learnings and plans in the form of PowerPoint presentations to customers and management as well as writing technical reports. ResponsibilitiesTo be successful in this role you will need: A College, University or equivalent Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field. Good communication skills along with strengths in customer management, planning and decision making Experience using Microsoft Office tools or equivalents, especially Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Prior direct customer facing experience would be beneficial to the customer applications engineer role, but not required A postgraduate (Master's or PhD) degree is typically NOT required for this role. QualificationsDegree Programs Considered: Bachelor's, Master's, PhD Major Programs Typically Considered: All Engineering Majors 2024 Salary Ranges by Degree Level: Bachelor's - $64,800 - $97,200 Master's - $76,000 - $114,000 PhD - $84,800 - $127,200 Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate's qualifications and experience, where appropriate. Cummins Full Time Requirements: College, University, or equivalent technical experience required Minimum 2.5 or above GPA required Must be able to complete 40 hours per week 2 years in a position/internship relating to your field of study preferred Compensation and Benefits Base salary rate.
