Job Description
We are looking for a talented Technical Data Analyst to join our team specializing in Technical Information Systems for our Corporate Business at one of our Cummins Inc. locations, or if applicable, your remote home office, within the United States.
In this early career role as a Technical Data Analyst, you will analyze our products and processes to identify trends/ insights, translate the data into stories and enable data assisted decisions. You will work with tasks and projects to apply statistical and graphical analysis and synthesize your findings in stories and reports for socialization with business stakeholders.
As a Technical Data Analyst, you will:
Utilize principles of statistical, graphical analysis, and hypothesis led analysis to solve real world problems.Leverage your data analysis results to synthetize your findings and translate them into stories to drive data assisted decisions.Apply the principles of statistical, graphical analysis and hypothesis lead analysis.Demonstrate good use of appropriate industry tools.Collaborate and communicate effectively (both verbal and written) with key stakeholders and colleagues.You will make an impact by:
Translating data into stories and identifying business and/or product levers to drive improvement and optimization.Using your understanding of fundamental Statistics and Computer Programming to understand causal mechanisms, recommend appropriate action and owning documented problem resolutions.Making day to day decisions on including conducting analysis, testing, and communicating with stakeholders that impact and support the successful progression of projects.Using tools and languages related to Data Analysis such as:
Python, RMicrosoft Azure Analytics Solutions (Databricks, SSIS)Microsoft Power BI and ExcelMinitab
Responsibilities
To be successful in this role you will need to:
A College, University or equivalent Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM fieldA postgraduate (Master's or PhD) degree may be required for select Technical Data Analyst roles.Good communication skills along with strengths in logic, planning and decision making.Good analytical, experimental and project management skillsExperience using Microsoft Office tools or equivalents, especially Excel, Outlook, and PowerPointQualifications

2024 Salary Ranges by Degree Level:
Bachelor's - $64,800 - $97,200Master's - $76,000 - $114,000PhD - $84,800 - $127,200Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate's qualifications and experience, where appropriate.

College, university or equivalent technical experience requiredMinimum 2.5 GPA or above requiredMust be able to complete 40 hours per week0-2 years in a position/internship relating to your field of study preferred

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
