Description

SYSTEM ADMINISTATOR (IT Department): Performs server administration and planning for IT-server infrastructure, to include network equipment, servers, and software applications. Designs, builds, deploy, and maintains the IT infrastructure using the latest technology, including networking and server management for both on-premise and cloud infrastructure. Works as a team member with other technical staff to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems. Works with both traditional premises infrastructure operations, as well as, with cloud infrastructure. Works closely with the IT operations team to maintain system infrastructure, including firewalls, testing equipment, backing up systems and data, installing and updating malware software, installing and rebuilding existing servers as well as other processes. Works to transition on-premise infrastructure to cloud based infrastructure, as well as working with our application developers on operations and security of existing and new applications. Maintains and supports the integrity of the operating system environment and various computer systems within Beaufort County. Monitors disaster recovery practices and procedures. Performs regular testing of disaster recovery protocols to ensure viability. Manages and support virtual hardware including storage and infrastructure. Backup schedule and confirm availability of backups. Supports migration of on-premise storage to the cloud. Proactively configures network, storage, cloud and server monitoring for early detection of problems or maintenance required, as well as anomaly monitoring.

Skills Needed:•Ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality.•Ability to deal with peers and management using tact and diplomacy.•Ability to work flexible hours as required.•Ability to troubleshoot quickly and work well under pressure.•Experience with general productivity and utility software, including Microsoft Office, web browsers, e-mail clients, anti-virus clients.•Experience with SCCM, Datto, Nutanix, MDM technologies, Palo-Alto, Virtualization, PXE, Imaging, AV, Cisco AMP, Rapid 7, vulnerability scanning, cyber-security, Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, and Microsoft 365•In-depth understanding of IP routing, configuration, baselining, basic application writing and scripts as it pertains to application management.•Knowledge of general wiring specifications.•Knowledge of hardware, software, operating systems and networking protocols.•Strong attention to detail.•Strong work ethic, integrity and positive attitude.Typical Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:•Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.•Applicable industry standard certification required (For example VCP, MCSE, WCNA, Security +).•8 years minimum experience in all phases of information technology processing to include working with Windows servers and network monitoring tools, administration of LAN/WAN systems and maintenance, hardware and software analysis, troubleshooting and support in heterogeneous computing environments.•Must possess and maintain a valid driver's licenseSupplemental Information
