Description

The Network Administrator manages, monitors, configures, and troubleshoots all the network and security equipment throughout Beaufort County. Duties includes: installing and maintaining equipment such as Cisco Switches, Cisco Routers, Meraki Firewalls, Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco/Meraki Access points, Wireless LAN Controller, Cradle points etc.; monitoring with tools such as Solarwinds, Cisco Umbrella, Cisco AMP, and Cisco DNA; and assisting with all the network issues of the users on a day-to-day basis.Examples of Duties

Develops network plans for Beaufort County.Installs, configures, monitors, and troubleshoots Cisco switchers, and Cisco Meraki appliance, Cisco Meraki wireless access points.Assists with network issues with the users through the ticketing system.Monitors the user authentications using Cisco ISE and Auba Clear pass.Oversees network device documentation and related asset management.Monitors networks using Solarwinds, Cisco ISE, and Cisco DNA.Monitors Data Center and server processes.Updates old outdated network equipment.Installs and manages UPS systems.Configures and maintains firewalls.Configures network access controls, wireless access points, and remote access and route management.Administers email system.Configures and troubleshoots vendor security cameras and network fiber connectivity issues.Maintains Active Directory, group policy administration, Vmware, and Nutanix environments.Supports networks and upgrades for County entities, EMS, and DSN.Keeps up to date with new network technologies by attending seminars, reading technical papers, and testing new technologies.Implements security best practices.Documents server and system environment.Works with vendors and contractors.Reviews logs and other reports for actionable items.Validates backup and disaster recovery items.Maintains patching and updates for computer environment.Replaces outdated equipment.Performs other related duties of a similar nature or level.

Typical Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degreeFive (5) years of related work experienceEquivalent combination of education and experience.Licenses or Certifications:

Valid driver's license
