SUMMARY:

The Network Administrator is involved in the administration, configuration, implementation, modification, improvement, and day-to-day support of credit union network devices as well as troubleshooting/supporting end user systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following:

Primary administrator for network infrastructure systems; assists IT Manager and/or AVP of Information Technology with budget requirements, preparing SOW's and coordinating with vendors when necessary on system management, implementation and problem resolution.Under general supervision, configures, maintains and implements network router, switch, firewall and required supporting applications in accordance to standards.Assists in the administration of network services including DHCP, DNS, IPAM, AAA.Provides Tier II/III support for network services including branch connectivity, remote VPN access, LAN, WAN, firewall, virtual environment, data storage, and campus networks.Provides off-hours support when necessary of network infrastructure.Under general direction, implement and maintain campus and remote switching environment; maintain private WAN, SDWAN, ADVPN and DMVPN connections, routing and connectivity; assist with maintaining circuits with service providers.May assist in the deployment, troubleshooting and support of end user workstations.Assists with data and voice circuit vendors to resolve outages or implement new service.May assist in support of Tier I helpdesk.Travels to branch locations to install/maintain equipment or software.Prepares technical documentation including deployment guides, troubleshooting guides, systems architecture documents, etc.Administers the wireless network infrastructure.Assists the Telecomm and Network Administrator with Tier II support and administration of the Avaya PBX/VoIP telephony environment.As directed, deploy new systems/technologies under supervision of the Information Technology Manager or AVP of Information Technology.Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform the essential job functions.The position requires experience installing and maintaining network equipment including but not limited to: routers, switches, firewalls, security software/appliances, VPN access. Associate level understanding of basic network principles (e.g., TCP/IP, OSI model, routing protocols, etc.) is required. Telephony (voice and data) experience is preferred. Experience with the following products/vendors/solutions is highly preferred: Cisco (routers, switches, firewalls), Fortinet (Firewalls, SDWAN appliances, FortiExtenders), Fortinet ADVPN, Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine), Cisco DMVPN, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, Avaya.
