Description:

The IT Support Technician, under general supervision, will be an individual who understands great customer service and enjoys helping people solve problems. The person in this role will support the help desk process, common business and production systems. They need to juggle a variety of ongoing tasks and urgent issues, along with escalation of non-routine problems to a specialty team for resolution. Travel between sites and after hours support will be required.

Essential Functions:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Serve as the primary interface with employees for support of technologyIdentifies, escalates and resolves a variety of technical problemsProfessionally responds to telephone calls, e-mails, and employee requests for technical supportTracks and monitors open problems to ensure a high standard of customer service is metCommunicates system outages and updates to usersInstallation and troubleshooting of Windows, Apple and Android devices and peripheralsAssist with administration of business software applications and related servicesCreates and maintains documentation on common issues and processesAssist in troubleshooting if interruption of services occursCreation and management of user accounts and access to file servers and applicationsRemain current with trends and advances in technologyMake recommendations to enhance functionality and service to usersWork with IT to identify new software and hardware, including replacements and upgradesParticipates in a regular on-call rotationAssist in maintaining an accurate inventory of IT equipmentConfiguration and installation of phones, computers and printersOther duties as needed.Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GEDTwo years of information technology related experience or combination of experience and post-secondary technical training such as: installing workstations, providing technical support for software, or installing and maintaining hardware, network infrastructure equipment, security or telecommunications software or hardware or equivalent education/experience.Must have a passion for technology and a willingness to learnMaintain a positive attitude and a commitment to qualityHands on experience with Windows, Apple and Android devicesExperience with all versions of Microsoft OfficeWorking knowledge of computer systems and networksMust be capable of following policies and procedures

Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test, post-offer pre-employment physical, and background check.Valid driver's licensePreferred Qualifications:

Associate degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experienceMinimum of 2 years of experience in IT SupportExperience in a manufacturing industry background strongly preferredCertification in one or more; networking or systems administration is highly desired

Physical Requirements:

Move safely, quickly, and perform duties with repetitious movement. Sit and/or stand for shift, reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull, maintain balance, bend at the waist, kneel, walk varying distances, and climb stairs. Must be able to tolerate all weather elements, loud conditions, vibrations and airborne particles (sawdust).
