Mission Assurance Engineer (Subject Matter Expert)

a.i. solutions will support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Quality, Safety and Mission Assurance (QS) Directorate implementing quality and mission assurance requirements byproviding technical evaluations of Developer designs for subcomponents, assemblies, and integrated systems associated with MDA programs

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:

Provide technical evaluations of developer designs for subcomponents, assemblies, and integrated systems associated with MDA programs and provide subject matter expertise for the identification, evaluation, and mitigation of risks associated with various aspects of the design, development, manufacturing, fielding and operation of MDA systems.Provide insight into implementation and execution of MDA's Assurance Provisions (MAP) and Parts, Materials, and Processes Mission Assurance Plan (PMAP) requirements on MDA's development efforts.Evaluate the current risk level of baseline system designs, as well as the impact of baseline changes to the overall system risk profile. Assist in communicating issues and risks. Prepare risk notification reports.Evaluate the current risk level of baseline system designs, as well as the impact of baseline changes to the overall system risk profile. Prepare risk notification reports.Assist with review and assessment of hardware and software compliance with quality and related mission assurance requirements, including support of failure investigations, failure review boards, evaluations, audits, and assessments. Activities include determining root cause of failures of MDA hardware and software.Prepare draft documents, briefs, presentations, and actions items responses, which may include information papers.Provide weekly status reports on activities and issues of concern.

Minimum Qualifications:

ABET accredited engineering degree with 15+ years related experience in QMA.Masters degree or PhD in relevant field (does not have to be ABET accredited)Experience in analyzing, and reporting on missile defense or aerospace system design requirements, design solutions, and test and evaluation data.Experience leading the development and execution of policies and requirements related to quality or mission assurance and reviewing and making recommendations for test risks and technical risks at the senior executive level of large aerospace organizations.Security Clearance Requirements: SecretMAKE A MOVE, MAKE AN IMPACT.
