About the Role
Jackpot Party, a TOP SEVEN game in the US, is seeking a strong and agile QA Lead for LiveOps in our Cedar Falls, IA studio! As SciPlay's
QA Lead,
you are a passionate, positive, can-do, go-getter team player. QA Leads are responsible for leading teams of QA Analysts in the day-to-day testing of the game. They are functional leads, lending a hand with testing as needed, while also mentoring and guiding their teams, providing feedback and support for team members, assessing risk and helping drive test strategy and planning, writing and maintaining test documentation and plans, and communicating with other departments and the QA Manager to ensure quality releases.This role requires a forward thinking, critical problem solver who can communicate across the organization!
Essential Job Functions:•Directly manage a team of QA Professionals within their discipline.•Communicate daily/weekly goals and monitor and report progress.•Ensure that team members are working on the appropriate task in order to achieve goals.•Develop and maintain a reporting structure for the team, that can track our current work and provide estimates on future work.•Communicate with other departments within Social Gaming to prevent issues from arising and correct existing problems during the development cycle.•Oversee and ensure that escalations of any product issues found during testing are properly communicated and resolved.•Own continuous improvement for existing and new test processes and methodologies.•Responsible for ensuring that proper communication regarding testing is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.•Responsible for mentorship, evaluations, conflict resolution and recognition of the staff to maintain highly motivated and engaged employees.•Ensure team members are identifying test needs based off acceptance criteria/ risks assessments based on code changes.•Implement software test methodologies/procedures/tools that provide value to the overall product development lifecycle.•Handle escalations of any product issues found during testing and/or production to ensure that they are resolved.•Participate in global QA initiatives.
Qualifications
Education:•Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or relevant area or equivalent experience
Required Experience:•Minimum 5 years of experience in progressively responsible positions in field associated with software testing•At least 2 years of leading a Live Operations QA team•Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment without direct supervision•Strong management and leadership skills with a proactive participative management style•Must be able to manage others effectively in a fast-paced environment without direct supervision•Strong leadership skills with a proactive participative style
Preferred Experience:•2 years social game development•Experience testing multiplatform software- PC, web, mobile•Well versed in agile development methodologies
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:•Knowledge of test methodologies and their implementation•Ability to work collaboratively with development partners to define acceptance/ exit criteria•Ability to effectively develop and manage staff to meet current and future team goals•Ability to properly identify risks and can implement mitigation/elimination plans appropriately•Strong verbal and written communication skills•Ability to efficiently regulate, delegate, and prioritize tasks•Ability to meet quick deadlines and deliver precise, effective results in a fast-paced work environment•Experience with JIRA a plus•Experience with XRAY a plus
