Scout's GIS intern will contribute to the GIS team's goal of fostering successful renewable project development by leveraging data throughout the project lifecycle. You will utilize your analytical skills to enhance the processes of the GIS team and directly support the development of utility scale wind, solar, and battery storage projects. As an intern, you will work on a summer project in addition to contributing to the core functions of the GIS team. This project will be agreed upon at the beginning of the internship according to business needs and your interests and expertise as the intern. Previous intern projects have included automating workflows, integrating other systems with GIS, and expanding the capabilities of the GIS team. The core functions of the GIS group include both web and static map creation, project site assessment, systems integration, and data manegement.
Requirements
Working towards or recently completed a bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Science, Computer Science, Information Science or similar fieldDetail oriented and a desire to deliver high quality resultsInterest in the renewable energy industryEffective verbal and written communication skillsOrganizational Fit:
Ability to multi-task and arbitrate between conflicting priorities with clear target setting and follow-through capability in a fast-paced work environment.Be self-motivated and able to work independently.Be able to come up with creative solutions to problems.Ability to collaborate across a variety of teams at the company.Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.Timeline and Location
This position will begin in May 2025. The internship will be a full-time (40 hr/week) commitment for the duration of the 12-week internship program. Our ideal candidate will be able to work out of our Boulder office during the duration of the internship program per the program requirements.
