Our client, located in Houston, is seeking an experienced
Senior Business Analyst
to support the implementation and optimization of waste management route optimization and logistics software. This role will focus on aligning business needs with technical solutions by conducting in-depth business process analysis, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefit analysis. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in enhancing operational efficiency within the waste management sector.
Responsibilities
Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and translation of business needs into technical requirements.Conduct comprehensive analyses of business processes, gather and document user requirements, and define functional specifications.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data integration and route optimization efforts.Analyze, clean, and manage large datasets to support logistics and route optimization, leveraging advanced Excel and data analysis tools.Create and maintain detailed documentation of workflow processes, ensuring all project documentation is up to date and easily accessible.Engage in real-time problem-solving and provide progress updates to stakeholders.Prepare formal presentations of findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.Manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Business Administration, or a related field. (In lieu of a degree, a High School Diploma or GED with 8+ years of relevant experience will be considered).Minimum of 5 years
of experience as a Business Analyst in IT, specifically within systems development, implementation, and analysis.Experience in the waste management or logistics industry is highly preferred.Proficiency in Excel with experience in data analysis and a strong interest in learning SQL query writing.Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.Experience in GIS mapping and logistics software is an advantage.Self-motivated, detail-oriented, with excellent time management and organizational skills.Must be currently residing in the Greater Houston area and be authorized to work in the U.S.

this year and may be required to be onsite 5 days a week next year.
