The Opportunity
The Catalis team is hiring a full-time senior level IBMi Systems Administrator to be responsible for the design, deployment and management of the IBMi server environment. This position is located at our Edmonton office working normal business hours and will report directly to the Director of Systems Engineering.
What you Will doConfigure and maintain an existing IBMi environment; hardware, operating system software and related pluginsAssist with system administration, perform system updates, and monitor for issuesTroubleshoot, triage and fix any issues that arise in the IBMi environmentProvide support for users and collaborate with company leadership to plan and implement software updates, handle backups, and propose strategic process improvementsManage vendor relationshipsEnsure patched and up-to-date systemsMonitor backupsOn-call scheduleRequirements
What you Will Need to Succeed
3 to 5 years of proven experience as an IBMi administratorStrong knowledge of IBM iSeries hardware, operating system (OS/400), and related softwareProficiency in user and security management on the iSeries platformExperience with backup and recovery proceduresHigh level of customer service with excellent communication skillsProficient in design documentation and scopingWork as a member of an IT engineering teamSelf-motivated desire to learn new technologyExcellent phone, written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work on multiple priorities and/or projects simultaneouslyExcellent organizational skills
