OVERVIEW

Kitsap Transit has been operating since 1983 and with that, the agency has grown substantially.

We are looking for an IT Manager to manage all aspects of the Information Technology team including budget recommendations, planning, personnel and project management to ensure the agency's strategic goals and objectives are met.

Essential Duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIESLeads IT team in developing and maintaining high levels of customer service, professionalism, individual skills, and effective team approach to work.Develops long and short-range plans to ensure that IT-related activities support the agency's goals and objectives.Performs periodic internal and external risk assessments and needs analysis to develop the short and long-term strategic IT goals for the agency.Supervises Information Technology staff, sets goals and objectives.Assures proper backup and recovery policies and procedures are in place.Advises the Service & Capital Development Director, Executive Director and Board on information technology issues.Collaborates with other transit and government agencies in developing regional transit and information technology projects.Oversees all software contracts which includes utilization, version upgrades, and service planning functions.The successful candidate will be expected to meet the qualifications for the position and perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Must be 18 years of age by the time of hireMust have a valid Washington State Drivers License at the time of hire.Bachelor's degree in computer information systems or business administrationSeven years of experience in information technology management, systems security, computer systems analysis, design and voice/data network management AND five years of lead or supervisory experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Licenses/Certifications:

Transportation Worker Identification Credential to be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Positions in this class typically require: dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and other equipment, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met. Regional travel may be required.

May need to work weekends and outside regular office hours.
