VDOT is seeking a

Wage (Part-Time) IT Support Specialist

for the

Lynchburg District Office .

Job Duties

This position is an hourly/wage position. Wage employees may not work more than 29 hours per work week on average over the course of a year and are limited to 1,500 hours within a 12-month period. No State benefits are provided.

The purpose of the Wage (Part-Time) IT Support Specialist position is to provide administrative support to technology resources. The core responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

Providing customer service for shared mailbox by receiving/responding to all district requests. Open tickets in ticketing system and assign to techs. Ensure tickets are closed in a timely manner. Provide monthly metrics to ADA-B dashboard.Process orders for IT peripherals and inventory (quotes, packing slips, notes, etc.) Track budget allotments.Administer IT stock and loaner devices including cables, adaptors, peripherals, projectors, laptops, etc.Process computer refreshes. Assess quarterly spreadsheets, determine customer needs, create SharePoint questionnaires, submit orders, correspond with VITA / refresh vendor, and submit software requests.Administer mobile device process. Audit plans, assignments, and monthly bills, process requests, submit orders, track paperwork, update inventory system, conduct annual mobile certification, update district phone list.POC for the 30-38 report. Send out "Out of Compliance" emails with escalations.Keep how-to materials and job aids up to date.Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of customer service processes, procedures, and practices.Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.Ability to communicate solutions to customers.Knowledge of Microsoft Products (Windows, Outlook, Office, SharePoint).Experience working with ticket tracking and reporting tools.Additional Considerations

Knowledge of VDOT's computer applications and how they operate in a desktop environment.A combination of training, experience, or education in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field desired.
