Product Owner - Senior

Job Summary:

The Product Owner is a product management team member who ensures that each product delivers maximum value to its users and customers. The Product Owner emphasizes outcomes over outputs and continuous evaluation of the performance of our products and investments in each to generate actionable intelligence used to inform the next wave of value. Relocation is available for this position. Visa Sponsorship is not available for this position. Selected candidates must live within a commutable distance (approximately 50 miles) of Citizens Jacksonville/Tallahassee office location.

Job Duties:

Facilitates a work environment that fosters and supports ethical decision-making and actions by motivating, promoting, and modeling ethical behavior, as well as executing job responsibilities in accordance with Citizen's core values, ethics, and information protection policies.

Partners and engages with product management, stakeholders, and customers from across the organization to inform the product vision, strategy, features, and prioritization. Ensures alignment to OKRs. Contributes to market analysis into emerging business trends and product capabilities. Evaluates new ideas from users and customers.

Manages 1- 5 Product Backlogs. Leads collaboration with architects, engineering leads, and other SMEs to deconstruct initiatives into features. Establishes value of each feature. Collaborates with Agile teams to deconstruct features into Product Backlog items.

Leads the agile product design process working with their Agile team(s) (5 max) and across Agile Release Trains. Translates features into well-defined product requirements. Leverages intimate knowledge of customer/user needs and product capabilities during product design process.

Ensures stakeholders continuously aligned and aware of delivery progress, performance and overall product performance leveraging various communication channels and methods including Sprint Reviews.

Evaluates and scores Agile team PI Objectives to ensure strong alignment to goals. Continuously works with Agile teams from sprint to sprint to deliver value. Accepts product backlog items, ensuring definition of done criteria is satisfied.

Enables Agile teams to effectively apply Agile Product Development practices, tools, and techniques. Leads enterprise research into emerging trends in tools and practices and leverages our continuous learning system to research, introduce and adopt new opportunities.

Contributes to change management and product launch plans, working to ensure that product management and OCM leads have what they need to be successful. Develops and maintains appropriate tracking and reporting of product performance post-launch to evaluate future investment.

Knowledge Required:

Strong understanding of Product Lifecycle Management phases; from concept to end-of-life.

Strong knowledge of product management tools (e.g., Rally) including industry data sources (e.g., Gartner).

Relevant Experience Required:

•5 or more years' experience working as a Product Owner and/or Product Manager

•3 years of experience working in an Agile environment.

•3 years hands-on experience with Agile product lifecycle management tools and techniques (e.g., Rally, Excel).

In lieu of experience may consider those with 5 or more years relevant experience as a Business Analyst, Project Manager, or Program Manager in an Agile software development environment may substitute for experience as a Product Owner and/or Product Manager.

Education Required:

High School Diploma | GED

Bachelor's Degree OR 3 years relevant experience, OR a combination of college education and relevant experience equivalent to 3 years. Concentration - Business, Computer Science, or Product Design & Development preferred.

Additional education may count towards experience.

Preferred Experience/Experience:

•Product development experience in the insurance industry.

•Experience using Rally software to enable Agile product delivery.

•Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) experience and certifications - SPC, ASE, SDP, APM. •Level I or higher Scrum Master certification (e.g., CSM, PSM-I or higher).

•Experience utilizing Kanban methods.

•Agile Leadership certification (CAL-E, PAL-E or higher). •Level III Product Owner certification (e.g., CSP-O, PSPO III, SAFe APM).
