Job Description:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

This position is the third level in the Business Analyst/Systems Analyst career progression and, as a member of VACU's Business Transformation department, is focused on working with stakeholders, Business Management, and SMEs to understand and clarify business needs and issues, to identify opportunities from which to formulate prospective solutions, and to ensure the end user's vision is fully captured and translated into business requirements and technical specifications. The Business Systems Analyst III is responsible for acting in a liaison role between business units and IT, in order to identify and recommend appropriate situations where technology can be leveraged to address business needs.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Work with business leadership to identify, understand, and elaborate on business capability needs; work with technology teams to design solutions that deliver new and enhanced capabilities, enabling the achievement of business goals.Partner with solution designers and technical architects to design solutions, in accordance with technology standards, that drive achievement of strategic goals. Participate in design discussions and architecture reviews to ensure delivery and understanding of solution requirements.Elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to business and information systems, including:

Facilitating sessions for eliciting requirements from business and technology teams.Developing business requirements that define business intent.Developing functional/non-functional requirements, as well as process and data models, that illustrate how the solution will fulfill the business requirement.Developing technical specifications demonstrating how technology should be leveraged to deliver business value.Reviewing requirements with technical teams to ensure their thorough understanding.Tracking and documenting changes to requirements through the life of the project/initiative.

Perform research analysis of complex data structures, ensuring the functional design of assigned projects is accurate and complete.Collaborate with testing resources to ensure adequate testing of business and technical requirements, in support of the implementation of enterprise solutions.Partner with Project Managers to ensure the successful implementation of new technology solutions, acting as the requirements and technical subject-matter expert for project leadership.Facilitate sessions for diagramming business processes and data flows, and performing other analysis-related activities as-needed.Perform enterprise analysis of submitted business needs statements, including:

Analyzing the business and technology impacts of proposed solutions to business operations.Analyzing the alignment of proposed initiatives to business strategy.Recommending appropriate course of action to senior management.

Work with business units to improve process execution and achieve strategy through the use of technology.Complete required project documentationComply with all published enterprise level policies and procedures including, but not limited to, Risk Management policies.Complete all required, ongoing enterprise level training including, but not limited to BSA, OFAC, and Information Security.Report all Risk Management Policy violations in accordance with policy.Other duties may be required and assigned by the supervisor.JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge:

Excellent knowledge of concepts and tools used in business systems analysis, project management (waterfall and agile), and SDLC.Strong understanding of information systems, including the methods and techniques used in designing, developing, testing, and implementing computer hardware and software systems.Working knowledge of banking systems and processes preferred.Experience documenting requirements using user stories, use cases, wireframes, and data models preferred.Skills:

Bachelor's degree (Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business Administration preferred) with several years of hands-on experience in the areas of business systems analysis, project management, and/or information technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in related fields.Extensive experience working as a business analyst/systems analyst in support of large-scale systems implementation projects, preferably in a financial services organization.Experience working in a team environment and leading cross-functional teams.Industry-standard Business Analyst and/or Project Management certification desired (i.e. CAP, CBAP, PMP).PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This job requires the ability to sit for long periods of time.
