Job Description Summary

WVNCC seeks applicants for Application Systems Analyst Programmer Senior.

The person in this role will be responsible for the development and production of statistical and analytical reports in a wide variety of platforms to support the decision-making functions and planning in support of institutional effectiveness. Data management in support of institutional departments, the institution, and its strategic planning and effectiveness efforts, such collecting, compiling, researching, and making recommendations regarding supported systems.

Responsible for performing duties such as data analysis, active research, data collection and coordination of state and federal reporting, conducting surveys and the collection of data/information needed by the institution for decision-making purposes in support of the mission and vision of the institution.

Work activities accomplished independently, under general direction, working from established policies and objectives. This position sets goals and determines how to accomplish defined results with few guidelines to follow, although precedents may exist; supervisor/manager provides broad guidance and overall direction.

Problems and decisions faced in this position are complex and occasionally ill-defined and may need some exploration to understand. Errors could easily result in substantial costs, inconveniences, and disruption of services within the affected area.Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to

Essential Functions% TIMEDevelops and produces statistical and analytical reports in a wide variety of platforms to support institutional needs for college-wide data under the supervision of the Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness. Responsible for collection, extracting, compiling and manipulating data for use in departmental data extracts, state and/or federal reporting. Responsible for timely submission and accurately completing internal and external mandated surveys which includes but is not limited to federal IPEDS (IPEDS Keyholder), Personnel State Board File, HLC Annual Update, HEAPS, Higher Ed Reauthorization, CTCE Perkins Core Indicator, PELL state reporting and Federal Gainful Employment Disclosures. Assists in design and maintenance of institutional databases, data warehouse and other internal and external departmentsupported systems, which includes but not limited to: WaterMark, student card file system and bookstore enrollment file.35%Responsible for the design, coordination and implementation of all institutional surveys using tools such as CoursEval and SurveyMonkey. This includes the overalI administration of the institution surveying software including that used for course/faculty evaluations. Responsible for the design and administration of annual institutional surveys. Responsible for compiling, extracting and analyzing survey data for use in department systems such as Argos, Tableau and PowerBI.30%Responsible for the administration and management of the college reporting tool (Argos). This includes but is not limited to data block creation, building high-level dashboards and OLAP cubes, user security folder permissions, Argos installation on user machine, user manual training creation and one-to-one user training. Responsible for ad-hoc report creation and internal data needs such as Program Review Data, Faculty and Adjunct Success and Retention Data, weekly enrollment reports, and any other ad-hoc requests.25%Responsible for data research, this includes but is not limited to C/P (classification of institution programs) and SOC (standard occupational classification) research and review for each academic program.5%This position serves as the backup for BANNER technical support and BrightSpace system.
