Your Mission:
The Analyst, Global Data Governance will support a broad array of business and technology stakeholders by implementing the LCE/IHI Global Data Governance policies, standards, and processes. The company is clear and committed to the "what" - enabling data driven decisioning, as well as the "why" - to make a great company even better- and is looking to the Analyst, Global Data Governance to help support and maintain the "how." This role reports to Manager, Global Data Governance, who is a member of the leadership team of the Global Data and Analytics COE.
How You'll Make an Impact:
Discovers, documents, and maintains data across the enterprise through an analytical approach identifying the most valuable data and its current state in a variety of systems and technologiesSupports, maintains, and enforces LCE/IHI data domains, hierarchies, data models, and MDM/Data Governance tooling as LCE/IHI's business needs and technical environments changePartners with Data Owners and Data Stewards across the company to enable non-data focused coworkers to play their role in trustworthy dataMaintains and implements policies, standards, and procedures, for the uniformity, accuracy, and semantic consistency of LCE/IHI's most important data assets to ensure executives, leaders, and coworkers alike can trust our dataIdentify, highlight, prioritize, track, and help resolve deviations and exceptions to policies and standardsAssists in implementation and maintenance of LCE/IHI's Data Catalog, Data Glossary, Data Lineage, and Data Quality tools, structures, standards, change management procedures, and documentation ecosystemSupports all involved with data intense work - from engineers and analysts to end users - with knowledge of policies, effective practices, and toolingActively develops knowledge and capability aiming to become a super-userWho You Are:
Bachelor's Degree in business, technology, engineering, or a related field2 + years' experience related to roles as a Data Custodian and/or Data StewardKnowledge of common data consistency issues as experienced by technical and business users, and the ability to conduct root cause analyses1 + years' experience in the implementation and maintenance of data management tools and methodologies: Data Catalog, Data Glossary, Data Lineage, Data Quality, etc.Ability to explain processes, rules, guidelines, etc. to stakeholders for the purpose of increasing complianceKnowledge of how data is managed in large companies and knowledge of key concepts: Data Governance; Data Quality; Data Analytics; Business Intelligence; etc.Comfort approaching coworkers across organizations and different levelsVery good written and verbal communication skillsUnderstanding of the principles of large-scale IT environments preferred.Strong analytical and time management skillsExperience creating Structured Query Language (SQL) queriesKnowledge of Business Intelligence concepts and toolsAbility to write various documents, such as functional requirementsSelf-motivated and able to handle tasks with minimal supervisionAbility to deliver a high level of customer serviceWhere You'll Work:
This position may require minimal travel to vendor locations, assessment at stores and Ilitch Companies facilities, data centers or seminars/networking.Requires extended periods of time sitting and talking on the phone.Works in a normal office environment where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, noise, dust, and the like.
