Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Step Down Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience in a large hospital (Level 1 preferred, Level 2 accepted); travel experience preferred License: Any state RN license accepted; compact license accepted Certifications: BLS, ACLS required; NIH Stroke Certification preferred Must-Have: - EPIC experience- Ventilator experience- Ability to read and interpret EKG strips- Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment- IV Start skills- Availability to work every other weekend/holiday- Complete required lab work and EKG/Dysrhythmia exam within specified time frame post-contract signing Job Description: - Work in a high-acuity, fast-paced step-down unit- Requires excellent time management and critical thinking skills- Manage cardiac monitor interpretation, ventilator/trach experience, chest tubes, drains, and cardiac drips- Typical patient population includes DKA, GI bleed, COPD, pneumonia, stroke, sepsis, urology complications- Support nursing care team if floated to other units, including high-risk respiratory units- Must be medically fitted for N95 or use PAPR if needed- Navy blue scrubs required- No more than 14 days of requested time off allowed; all requests must be submitted at the time of application- The facility reserves the right to cancel shifts due to low census or agreement with noticePlease note certain requirements regarding floating between campuses and weekend/holiday shifts may apply.
