Job Description
We are searching for a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner - someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you'll provide comprehensive care for infants of all gestational ages with mild to critical illnesses or requiring sustained life support in the Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.Houston Methodist Cypress - Level II NICU, 14 beds16 hour shifts (4p - 8a)Think you've got what it takes?
Qualifications:
Master of Science in NursingCurrent valid license as registered nurse in the state of TexasCurrent NNP-BC certification from the National Certification Corp (NCC) Board of Nurse ExaminersFull authorization to practice by the Texas Board of NursingTwo (2) years of Neonatal Nurse Practitioner experienceAHA/AAP hospital-based provider for Neonatal Resuscitation ProgramDelivery room resuscitation and stabilization experience requiredResponsibilities:
Utilizes advanced practice knowledge and skill to systematically collect and evaluate health assessment data and to manage a caseload of patientsDemonstrates effective communication skills and works to eliminate communication barriersServes as an educational resource for the patient and family, community, and other health care professionalsApplies new knowledge relevant to pediatric nursing to clinical practiceDemonstrates current professional, managerial, and/or technical knowledge and skillsDemonstrates nurse practitioner's role behaviors consistent with the development of advanced nursing practiceParticipates in departmental quality improvement program annually
