Job Description

We are searching for an Occupational Therapist for our Inpatient Rehab Unit - someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you'll plan, evaluate, organize, and implement occupational therapy treatment programs in a developmentally and age-appropriate manner.

• 4 weekend days per month• 1 Major/2 Minor Holiday per year• Shift Time - 8am-5pm, but some flexibility

Skills & RequirementsBachelor's degree in occupational therapy requiredOT certification required2 years' clinical experience preferredAs part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Complete patient evaluations and reassessments in accordance with hospital and department guidelinesDevelop an individualized plan of care based on evaluation findingsDevelop measurable long-term and short-term goalsManage the schedule effectively to maintain productivity expectationsParticipate in ongoing communication and collaboration with other members of the patient's interdisciplinary care teamMonitor patient response to treatment interventionRecommend appropriate adaptive equipment and/or termination of treatment when appropriateCollaborate with the clinic/program team to assess the need for clinical supportEnsure patient authorization prior to providing therapy treatmentAssess patient and family needs regarding their level of understanding, readiness to learn, ability to assimilate information, and the most desirable method of teachingDevelop and instruct the patient and family for appropriate home treatment programsDocument the patient information in the electronic medical record
