Give Yourself Credit, Work at Merrick Position Summary: We are seeking a dynamic Active Directory Subject Matter Expert (SME) with a strong background in Azure AD and M365 to join our team. As an Active Directory SME, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our Active Directory infrastructure while leveraging automation tools and techniques to streamline processes and increase efficiency. The candidate should have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in Active Directory, Azure AD, Azure AD Domain Services, ADFS/MS-SSO, Azure AD Connect, Entra ID, M365, and server security. The ideal candidate should have AD experience in large environments to assist with upgrade and migration projects from on premises AD to Azure AD and proactively ensure best practices and high security measures are crafted and implemented on-premises and in the cloud. In addition to troubleshooting complex technical issues and providing support for our teams, this candidate will bring an ownership mentality to own and solve issues gaps in our environment. Key Responsibilities: Working with technical managers and staff to understand interna and external customer needs Setup and configuration of Microsoft Entra ID in Azure AD. Advanced experience M365 and Azure AD user policies. Working with Defender and Azure AD for Identity and Access Management Working with Defender for Microsoft 365 products to improve user security posture Guiding migration from on premises services to M365 and Azure AD Logging analytics and analyzing data via Azure Log Analytics Developing, Updating, and Managing PowerShell and Terraform scripting for automation in Azure AD and AWS Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based infrastructure and applications, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and cost-efficient. Support and troubleshoot enterprise level, mission-critical applications, resolving complex issues and driving technical resolution across cross-functional organizations. Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor Azure and AWS infrastructure, identify performance bottlenecks, and optimize resource utilization to reduce costs. Implement and enforce cloud security policies and best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, firewall, and backup. Documentation and Training: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for Azure and AWS infrastructure and provide training and support to team members and stakeholders. Research and evaluate new cloud technologies and trends and provide recommendations for improvement and innovation. Implementation and Migration: Lead the implementation of Azure AD and IAM solutions and assist with cloud migration projects, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain cloud security best practices, compliance requirements, and data protection policies, including managing identity and access (Azure AD, AWS), threat protection, and data encryption. Identity Management: Develop and manage robust identity and access management solutions using Azure Active Directory, including Single Sign-On (SSO) for customer-facing applications, ensuring secure and seamless user access across all cloud services. Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure best practices are implemented across the Azure Infrastructure. Skills : Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field. 5 Years Cloud Engineering experience including Azure and AWS solutions. Azure and AWS cloud certifications are highly desirable: Azure Solutions Architect or Azure Security Engineer Associate. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Technical Skills: Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure services, including compute, storage, networking, databases, and serverless architecture. Strong understanding of cloud security principles, including identity and access management, encryption, firewall, and backup. Experience with cloud automation and orchestration tools, such as Azure DevOps, PowerShell, or Terraform. Experience with cloud monitoring and logging tools, such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, or Log Analytics. Experience with cloud migration and integration tools, such as Azure Migrate, Azure Data Factory, or Azure Service Bus. Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Amazon Monitoring Services, and 3rd party Monitoring tools.
