Position Description
Kinder Morgan, one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America, is looking for project leads for application development.
This application development position resides within the Business Systems application team. The successful candidate will be working for one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America. The Business Systems application team develops and supports many custom solutions for approximately 84,000 miles of natural gas, gasoline, crude oil, and carbon dioxide (CO2) pipelines and over 150 terminals for storing and handling various chemicals and other products.
On the Business Systems application team, the candidate will design and develop custom software solutions, build relationships with key company users, and have opportunities to take responsibility and ownership of these solutions. The candidate will engage in challenging assignments with opportunities for growth in their career.
This position will report directly to the Manager of Application Development. The successful candidate will lead the development and support of the business systems applications. The individual will lead projects in the development of technical solutions by utilizing technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will be expected to perform in the developer role.
Position Requirements
Job Description:
Implementation and support of business systems applications.
Work on projects for developing new technical solutions by utilizing technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Configuration, enhancement, and customization of the business systems applications primarily based on VB.NET and C#.NET technology, including the development of SSRS reports and API/Web services.
Interact with internal customers (business development, commercial, accounting, inventory, risk management, hedge accounting) to analyze business needs, develop & implement solutions, train customers, and maintain the applications.
Lead other developers, create & manage project plans and estimates, and maintain documentation. The position will report directly to the Manager of Application Development.
Present and report on projects and initiatives to all levels of leadership.
Position Requirements:
3 to 5 years of experience leading teams of Application Developers
7 to 10 years of work experience using Microsoft technologies in an application development environment and extensive experience using SQL to write and maintain complex business solutions.
Proficiency in all aspects of the .NET application model, specifically the presentation, business, and data access (SQL Server) layers. Ability to design, write and maintain complex business solutions.
Must be fluent in .NET framework environment (C# / VB.NET / ASP. NET), SQL server data management.
Experience in the Project life cycle, Design, Development, Testing, Migrations, and Implementations.
Good interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate systems requirements verbally and in writing.
Experience working on multiple assignments during the same timeframe and juggling tasks based on relative priorities with supervision commensurate with grade level.
Uses time effectively and efficiently; a team player who values the input of others and strives to solve problems for the good of all.
Can represent own interests and yet be sensitive to others. It is cooperative and encourages collaboration.
Experience in Crystal reporting, SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS is a plus.
Liquids, Gas, Renewables, CO2, or Crude Industry experience is a plus.
Accounting or Finance experience is a plus.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in an IT-related discipline or equivalent work experience.
