Position Summary In this role, you will provide IT helpdesk support to all Banner computer users. You will be responsible for hardware and software troubleshooting, desktop/laptop/terminal installation and configuration, and support for client based operating systems and productivity software, as well as assisting in maintaining hardware and software inventory, client patch and system management, application delivery, personal computer imaging, antivirus/anti-SPAM protection and other related end-user technologies. This internship is ongoing, with part-time hours available during the school year. What Youll Be Doing Provides customer service for all hardware and software issues, utilizing company Helpdesk ticket tracking system (KACE). Properly documenting requests/issues and resolutions. Setup, maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair personal computer hardware (laptops, desktops, and terminals) and related peripherals (printers, monitors, mice, cameras, etc.). Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot personal computer software including: Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Adobe, ShoreTel Call Manager, Lotus Notes, Java client, Internet Explorer, VPN clients, and any other related client software. Provide technical support in local and wide area network technologies. This support includes Ethernet, wireless, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN, and other networking technologies. Assist in maintaining accurate personal computer and technology assets inventory. Assist in supporting user account information, security, group policy, patch management, Anti-virus protection, Anti-SPAM, and other security related tasks. Resolves or reports non-standard or unauthorized computer hardware or software use. Required Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or related field Prior related work or PC course experience desirable Strong interpersonal skills, with excellent verbal and written communications skills General knowledge of networking and telecommunications technologies General understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP General understanding of MS Active Directory Results oriented individual with the ability to deliver quality, on-time results Must be well organized, efficient, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as a member of a team Ability to train both experienced and non-experienced computer users on new technology, both hardware and software What to Expect at Work Physical Demands The physical demands described here must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
