For one of our ongoing multiyear projects we are looking for a Business Analyst out of Madison, WI. Madison College is in the midst of implementing new SAP calculations for the college. This project will require a BA to gather and define the business requirements. We are looking for someone who is: Experienced business analyst who has developed and reviewed requirements and understands constraints to deliver optimal value Skilled at communication, negotiation, and facilitation with business, technology, and vendor stakeholder Familiar with the Business Analysis Book of Knowledge (BABOK) practices and concepts These initiatives require a candidate to operate independently, think critically and provide leadership, quality assurance, alignment to vision/mission and follow-through on solutions to completion. The ideal candidate can work effectively with demanding end-users, solicit key requirements (must-haves) and formulate feasible/cost-effective solutions to meet the needs. CRITICAL QUALIFICATIONS This assignment minimally requires: Experienced business analyst who has developed requirements and understands constraints to deliver the optimal value Skilled at communication, negotiation, and facilitation with business, technology, and vendors Familiarity with the Business Analysis Book of Knowledge (BABOK) practices and concepts Basic Qualifications (Must-Haves to be successful): Skilled at gathering and documenting business needs and requirements Excellent documentation, communication, and facilitation skills Ability to work in a complex and matrixed environment Comfortable documenting user test cases and participating in user acceptance testing Excellent conceptual, problem solving, and analytical skills Ability to work independently or as a member of a team on complex tasks Demonstrated competency in documenting solutions for both technical and functional audiences Familiar with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions (PSCS) Understands College and Financial Aid SAP calculations Duties and Responsibilities Lead and participate in the development of the Business Requirements Document (BRD) Balancing the requirements and what the owner defines as value to the overall project Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and technical experts in various settings including small groups, large groups, and focus groups Review the Functional Requirement Specification (FRS) to ensure that the requirements meet the goal of the overall project Ensure that project requirements are being managed, tracked, documented, and updated in a timely manner Identify gaps between business needs and system functionality Research and perform analysis to provide recommendations around technical and business challenges Participate in the development of user acceptance test plans and participate in the user acceptance testing Create and maintain documentation as appropriate for requirements, workflows, and processes Manage, foster, and develop team relationships Be a collaborative and transparent team member Desired Proactive Behaviors Display energy and initiative in solving problems Follow all possible avenues to get the job done Adaptable - undertake a variety of tasks willingly Ability to switch from complex to routine tasks when required Work effectively with a variety of personalities and work styles Quality - demonstrate appropriate quality and thoroughness in the work Decisive - ability to make decisions quickly when faced with multiple options Ability to influence others in decided course of action Integrity - act with personal integrity at all times Professional - work within your team's processes Confront problems, propose solutions, and take ownership through to resolution or ensure a clear hand-off Have a positive can-do approach to work Demonstrate a commitment and promote the behaviors aligned with the values of Madison College (excellence, respect, commitment to students and diverse communities and making higher education available to all) as well as the values that Technology Services (TS) has adopted to increase its effectiveness Responses should assume an intended start date of October 12th or sooner . Vendors must respond with detailed resume(s) that indicate relevant experience only or similar materials with descriptions of relevant experience highlighted. Vendors may not substitute staff personnel after acceptance of the resume(s). The vendor response must include an hourly rate for services. The hourly rate cannot exceed the rate in the original Contract response and the District pays no fees for travel expense or other reimbursement. Must Have: Experience performing Business Analyst related work Demonstrable skills in business requirements gathering for assisting in gathering and defining the business requirements for the College and Financial Aid (FA) Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) project.
