SUMMARY The Architect, Solutions is responsible for providing guidance, and solutioning expertise across the entire business enterprise regarding the software development life cycle (SDLC). Skill and leadership in engaging business and development partners to identify requirements for the design, development, modeling and use of business data, functionality, and reporting will be required to be successful in this role. The Architect, Solutions is required to perform functional analysis at a business level and in turn develop a solution that will meet the business and system need. They will be held responsible for architecture definition, documentation, development, and oversee testing and remediation efforts in the Solutions Delivery area for Hibbett. This position will be responsible for the end-to-end design, implementation and support of several different types of enterprise solutions that range from internal applications to on-premise or hosted third party solutions. The position will require all the skills required to work independently as well as with business partners and team members on each task. They should be able to proactively identify and investigate opportunities to add value to the business area or project with focuses on projects that improve business processes and revenue. The Architect, Solutions will work with vendors, cross functional project teams, development, and solutions delivery staff to translate requirements into functional and technical specifications. They must be able to collaborate with internal and external resources to drive results that deliver solutions to the business on-time and on budget. The Architect, Solutions, should display expertise in a combination of skills to lead the delivery and execution of a solution. Expert written and communication skills, deep understanding of integration technologies, database expertise, understanding of networking and cloud infrastructure, along with the skills required to document implementations and provide cutover support to the organization for those supporting said solutions is a must. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Defines, designs, documents, and assists in development and testing of different enterprise level solutions ensuring consistency and integration with existing data structures Provides expertise and solution architectural leadership in the areas of Accounting, Sales Tax, Retail and Inventory Integrations, Ecommerce Integrations, Store Operations, Marketing, Loss Prevention, General IT, Networking and Data Center Infrastructure, POS systems, and Omni Channel implementations Provide the insight and information for executives to make better business decisions Present high-level solutions and concepts to stakeholders during the SDLC process through delivery Develops processes for integrating new solutions into the enterprise architecture Drives user requirement translation into solution architecture vision and implementation plans Provide hands-on development of solutions; guides other team members and users; and supports the analysis and discovery processes Recommends supplemental data analytics technologies and data sources if needed Serves as Subject Matter Expert in areas of business support. Analyzes solution performance and recommend improvements Provides support for IT solution architecture projects as applicable, with the goal of delivering every project on time, within budget and within scope. Responsible for planning, tracking, and deliverables as defined Works with internal business and IT leaders to define scope, project timeline, deliverables, and priorities on individual and competing projects or business strategies Contributes to the career growth and mentorship of the members of the IT department, specifically solutions teams If needed lead internal non-executive projects to delivery with responsibility to stakeholders and business partners. Keep close, direct contact with key end-user representatives to ensure technologies are providing the intended value and functionality Protect the company's assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures and informing management and/or appropriate officials of potential fraud risk. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in information technology, business management, or other applicable area of study 7 years' relevant work experience including in-depth knowledge of retail business process and systems - Retail business user experience is a plus Strong visual design skills used in creating information dense, easy to understand workflow and system diagrams Working experience in software and/or business solution architecture design Expert skills in problem solving, process definition, and analysis Familiar with Data Architecture and Master Data Management principles Proficient skills in the use of analytical tools: SQL, MicroStrategy and Alteryx as examples Experience with Oracle Retail products and platforms such as: Merchandising (RMS,MFCS, ReSA), Planning and Forecasting Systems (IPO), Oracle Store Systems (Xstore, Locate, Relate), Order Management and Financial Accounting system are a plus Understanding and experience with Oracle APEX development, Spring, Java, and Kubernetes are also a plus Candidate should demonstrate exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills. The ability to prioritize and deliver work items in a fast-paced project-oriented environment will be key to thrive in this position LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Highly analytical. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
