Department OverviewThe North America Solutions Deployment and Integrations team delivers public safety applications to 911, Police, Fire, and EMS agencies. Products include Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management Systems, Integration with Radio Systems, Call Handling equipment, Reporting applications, and Fire Station Alerting systems. The Solution Architect understands the core product being deployed and integrates and delivers interfaces within the larger customer's enterprise network.Job Description Note: This is a remote position (US) and the candidates can reside in EST or CST. Overview: The Solution Architect is the field engineer responsible to take projects from Sales to Service including the deployment of Computer Aided Dispatch Systems, Mobile Applications, and Records Management Systems. The Solution Architect will take ownership of the project scope as well as the interfaces to be deployed. The Solution Architect works within a project team, has direct customer interaction, and works closely with the project manager to ensure successful project completion within the constraints of Schedule, Scope, and Cost. The Solution Architect documents the project with standard required documentation deliverables to help communicate status and completion of tasks. The Solution Architect works with customer requirements and the interface development team while continually striving for standardization and reuse. The candidate must demonstrate fundamental troubleshooting skills and work with minimal supervision. Some travel is required. Responsibilities: Coordinates and implements customer installation activities in a time-sensitive manner. Elicits customer requirements and can communicate technical details in verbal and written form to all levels of organization. Understands Public Safety customer environments for product security and reliability. Delivers solutions within the context of a defined product, standard interfaces, and limited flexibility. General software and IP network debugging skills are critical. Must be a Problem solver. Installs, Integrates, Deploys, and Delivers defined solutions. Identifies product defects and monitors resolution from engineering to customer acceptance. Tracks billable hours for project work completed. Preferred skills & experience: 4 years experience in a software discipline: Systems Integration, Software Engineering, Product Development, System Test, System Support, or Information Technology. Public Safety experience preferred. Seeking proficiency in the following areas: Windows Server 2019 or newer SQL Server 2019 or newer SQL scripting (T-SQL) Proficiency with XML, XPATH, Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations (XSLT) Must be a self motivated team player Must have very good communication skills Should have general networking knowledge Knowledge of packet capture tools, a plus Note: This is a remote position (US) and the candidates can reside in EST or CST. LI-AB1 LI-REMOTE Basic Requirements Bachelor's Degree in a technical or engineering discipline AND 4 years experience in software disciplines: Systems Integration, Software Engineering, Product Development, System Test, System Support, Information Technology or similar technical or engineering disciplines. OR 6 years of experience in software disciplines: Systems Integration, Software Engineering, Product Development, System Test, System Support, Information Technology or similar technical or engineering disciplines. This position is subject to working in high-security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.
