Job Title: Business Analyst Location: Remote (Client based in Michigan) Position Type: Contract Job Overview: The Department of Technology, Management, and Budget (DTMB) is seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst to support various IT and business projects for the state of Michigan. This remote position requires strong analytical skills, experience with state government processes, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across different departments. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and document business needs and requirements. Translate these into functional specifications for IT development teams. Analyze current business processes and workflows. Recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Collect, analyze, and interpret data to provide insights and support decision-making processes. Create and maintain detailed documentation, including business requirements, process flows, and user manuals. Act as a liaison between business units and IT teams. Facilitate meetings and workshops to ensure clear communication and understanding. Develop and execute test plans to ensure solutions meet business requirements. Identify and resolve issues or discrepancies. Assist in project management tasks, including tracking project progress, managing timelines, and ensuring deliverables are met. Ensure that solutions comply with state regulations, standards, and policies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMP) are a plus. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in a government or public sector environment. Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in business analysis tools and techniques. Experience with requirement gathering and documentation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting. Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with state government IT systems, enterprise applications, and project management methodologies is preferred. Working Conditions: Remote Work: This position allows for remote work. Candidates must have a reliable internet connection and a suitable home office setup. Travel: Occasional travel to Michigan may be required for in-person meetings or workshops. It's a 12-month contract, and the candidate will be required to attend onsite meetings at the client's location approximately once every three months.
