Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown (PCU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years in PCU License: License submission required Certifications: BLS, ACLS; NIHSS, CRRN, PCCN preferred Must-Have: Experience with titrating drips (e.g., nitroglycerin, heparin, cardizem, nicardipine, amiodarone, insulin, dopamine, esmolol, labetolol, milrinone, argatroban, aggrostat) Job Description: - Provide care for cardiac patients in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) - Manage patients with common diagnoses such as TAVR, post-cath care, temporary pacemakers, thoracic procedures, and post-operative cardiac surgery - Titrate various medications as required - Work collaboratively with charge nurses and other healthcare professionals - Required to float within designated areas as needed, maintaining a flexible and team-oriented approach - Interpret telemetry strips with an offsite central monitoring system - Participate in a structured orientation program including Epic class and unit orientation - Self-schedule shifts for six weeks at a time, with initial schedule filling existing gaps - Ensure weekend and holiday shifts are covered as per the unit's requirements - Comply with dress code requiring professional-colored scrubs - Prior experience with Epic is preferred; option available to test out if experienced within the last year
