At the Ball State University College of Health, we are embracing the opportunity to build innovative models of twinned education and community health services. The Associate Dean provides strategic leadership and managerial oversight for undergraduate and graduate academic programs, including interprofessional education and practice. The Associate Dean guides the Student Success Center, which includes strategies for increasing admission, persistence, retention, and graduation, along with enhancing inclusive excellence. The Associate Dean collaborates with the Dean’s Executive Team and Academic Unit Chairs on faculty and staff development, as well as the vision, mission, strategic plan, and organizational effectiveness of the college. Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate or terminal degree related to COH academic programs. Leadership in higher education with evidence of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service in higher education. Evidence of working cooperatively in a team environment. Authorization to work in the US: Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications: Along with doctoral degree, continuing education in academic affairs, student affairs, data analytics. If appropriate, professional licensure/certification. Administrative experience in higher education, e.g., assistant or associate dean, department chair, program director; engagement in student services. Duties & Responsibilities: Facilitate activities related to academic programs, including but not limited to oversight for the college undergraduate and graduate curriculum committees; developing high-impact practices such as immersive learning, study away/abroad, and undergraduate research; and management of student academic actions such as incompletes and grade changes. Guide academic units and interface with the Provost Office on all accreditation activities and unit reviews. Supervise the Director of Interprofessional Education and Practice and contribute to developing and facilitating interprofessional education and practice initiatives. Facilitate student grievance process. Work with academic unit leadership, faculty, students, and the Provost’s Office to resolve issues fairly and in a timely fashion. Supervise academic scheduler and facilities manager and guide academic scheduling and facilities and equipment management related to academic and research programs. Provide oversight for COH faculty affairs. Guide and orient Academic Unit heads on matters related to Academic, Student and Faculty Affairs. Collaborate with Dean’s Executive Team and the Provost Office to guide faculty and staff success and leadership succession. Perform other duties as assigned.
